wave goodbye to the red jerseys

Nascar News:
Jimmie Johnson won his fourth straight Nextel Cup race on Sunday virtually locking up his second straight Nextel Cup Championship with an 86 point lead over Jeff Gordon. The race was dominated early on by pole sitter Carl Edwards until mechanical problems put him in the garage. Martin Truex, Jr. took over the lead, pacing the field for a total of three times and 72 laps but with 24 laps to go, Johnson passed Truex to take the lead and never looked back to capture the Checker Auto 500.
Race Results Points Standings

We're pretty sure Dale Earnhardt, Jr. can't wait for the season to end after his 9th DNF of the season on Sunday.

With his 8th place finish, Kyle Busch was unable to complete his quest for the weekend sweep after winning the Truck and Busch races at Phoenix.

Football Update:

The Giants need to put away those ugly red jerseys especially after losing to the Dallas Cowboys 31-20 in them on Sunday.

The Colts have lost two in a row following an undefeated start to the season. They dropped Sunday night's game to the San Diego Chargers, 23-21. Oh and Peyton Manning had 6 interceptions. Yikes!

Not only did they get blown out 34-0 to the Green Bay Packers, but their rookie running machine Adrian Peterson left the game in the third quarter with a knee injury.

Brian Griese left the game early for the Bears, but it ended up being a good thing as his replacement former starter Rex Grossman launched a 59 yard pass to Bernard Berrian to give them the go ahead for their 17-6 win over the Oakland Raiders. Does this spell the return of sexy Rexy?

We're down to only one winless team, the Dolphins, after the Rams defeated the Saints 37-29. The Dolphins lost...again...this time to the Bills, 13-10.

Big Ben lead his team from a 15 point defecit to beat the Browns 31-28.

The NFL Union is appealing Pacman Jones' full season suspension.

Sad News, former New Orleans Saints head coach Dick Nolan has passed away at the age of 75. The father Niners head coach, Mike Nolan, was suffering from Alzheimer's disease and prostate cancer.

Popo in my crib News:
An Italian member of the popo is devestated about accidently killing a 26 year old fan at a soccer match. The popo, Corriere della Sera told an Italian newspaper that he fired in error and was not aiming at anyone in particular as he was trying to get a fight under controll. The victim, Gabrielle Sandri was a disc jockey. The news of the shooting prompted riots at the Atalanta and AC Milan game which took place later in the day. Changes are expected to be announced on Monday by the president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) regarding the two incidents. Watch out people, because the popo are on your tail!
