High School Senior Tears Intestines

A Huron High School senior football player died five weeks after tearing his intestines during a football game. Derek Greka was placed in the intensive care unit after getting hit in the stomach while reaching for a pass. The incident happened when the team was playing Airport High School on October 12th. But at first his teammates thought it was just a routine hit.
“It just looked like an innocent hit to me. I really thought he was going to be fine. When he came off the field, he ran off and he threw up, but I didn’t think anything of it because he just got hit in the stomach," his teammate told a local news channel.

But unfortunately it was much worse. Greka died after being moved from the intensive care unit to Henry Ford Hospital. The #80 will be retired by the team unless Derek's younger brother decides to play football.
