missing a jersey?

NASCAR Update:
We're down to the final three races in 2007 and a very close points battle has developed between teammates Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson as we head to Texas Motor Speedway thsi weekend. Just like the saying goes everything is bigger in Texas including the high speeds at this flat track. Gordon will be trying to not only expand his points lead but also pick up his first win there. Can he? Or will somebody else steal his thunder? You'll have to tune in to find out. Watch the Dickies 500 at 3 PM/est on ABC.

After his poor finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Tony Stewart has decided to stop paying attention to the points and just race. I think Tony was like three weeks behind in realizing he was out of contention.

Denny Hamlin stopped by a local children's hospital in Dallas, TX to donate $25,000. Nothing brings you better PR than sick kids and money.

Football Update:
Giants have the week off, so all you Big Blue fans can tune in to see Eli's brother hopefully take down baby daddy Tom Brady as the Colts take on the Pats at 4:15 PM/est on CBS.

There's nothing like a great verbal back and forth before two teams, especially if it's on a national stage like say Sunday Night Football on NBC. That's exactly what Cowboys safety Roy Williams and Eagles QB Donanvan McNabb are doing. And the only way to decide who is right is to kick some ass on the field!

Our new favorite wrestler Pacman Jones will meet with commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss reinstatement.

More bad news for Denver, they'll be without wide receiver Rod Smith for the remainder of the season. Smith is suffering from a hip injury.

The Daunte Culpepper experiment in Oakland is over...for now as Josh McCown will get the start for the Raiders in their game against the Texans on Sunday.

Chargers cornerback Drayton Florence was fined $15,000 by the league for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Texans QB Matt Schaub. Schaub will miss his game against the Raiders this weekend.

News & Notes: On the same day the Yankees officially presnted Joe Girardi to the media as their new manager, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced Joe Torre will be at the helm for the next three years...In other coaching news, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have re-signed their entire coaching staff for 2008...Barry Bonds will boycott Cooperstown if his historic homerun ball enters the Hall with an asterisk on it. Which is great, because Cooperstown was looking for a way to boycott Barry...Looks like there's another loser in the San Diego Wildfires, the Detroit Tigers. Their ace closer Joel Zumaya, who missed most of this season with injury, hurt his shoulder while helping his parents leave their home and will miss at least half of 2008...Kris and his skanky wife Anna Benson are for hire after the Orioles declined Kris' option for 2008...For now, it looks like Kobe will not be heading to Chicago, at least that's what Bulls GM John Paxson is saying...A group of Seattle business men have offered to buy the Sonics in hopes of keeping the team in Seattle...Two-time F1 champ Fernando Alonso is leaving McLaren after his disappointing third place points finish this year...Even without their proper jerseys, Virginia Tech was still able to disasemble the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech 27-3...It was the Wings, not the Flames that were on fire after wining 4-1 for their seventh straight win...Roger Federrer continues to show he's human after failing to David Nalbandian in the Paris Masters. This is Federrer's second loss to Nalbandian in the past two weeks.

Check this out: We have been counting down the days to the release of American Gangster. And thank goodness it's finally here. We haven't been this excited for a movie since well, Superbad!

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
