Frank Wren Keeps Dealing

Braves Trade Oscar Villarreal
The Braves have traded relief pitcher Oscar Villarreal to the Houston Astros for outfield prospect Josh Anderson. Braves GM Frank Wren calls Anderson an advancement in their centerfielder options but will "keep looking and possibly find an even more experienced option." Josh scored 64 runs and stole 40 bases in AAA.

The Braves' seem to be depleting their solid bullpen this offseason. They rejected Octavio Dotel's option in the offseason, traded Villarreal, waved Bob Wickman during the regular season and are still trying to re-sign Ron Mahay. I'm starting to get a little nervous

Braves make first move with Glavine
The Braves have made their initial offer for starter Tom Glavine. Glavine and his agent Gregg Clifton plan to make a counteroffer "that we will give them by tonight," Clifton told the Associated Press. Financial details have not been released but Tom's return to Atlanta is looking good.

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
