Lakers Brokeback Night

Nascar Update:
Just because this is his final race with Hendrick Motorsports doesn't mean Kyle Busch is opposed to going out with a bang.

Casey Mears, who will be taking over Busch's Hendrick ride in 2008, will get started with his new crew chief Alan Gustafson a little early. The two will pair up for this weekends Busch Series race at Homestead.

When Jeff Burton starts Saturday's Busch Series race in the #29 Chevy for RCR, he'll clinch the owners Busch Series Championship. Carl Edwards has already clinched the drivers championship.

Mark Martin says he's "proud" to race in the final Busch Series race ever. In 2008, Nascar's second tier series will be renamed the Nationwide Series.

Even though he has just recently bought into the Nascar family, George Gillett, Jr. says he knows exactly how to grow Nascar's popularity.

Football Update:
Ricky Williams was reinstated by the League after being suspended by the league for 18 months. Williams has been holed up in a Massachusetts facilty for the past five and a half months. It still remains seen if Williams will return with the desperate Dolphins who are currently 0-9.

QB Round Up: The Dolphins will bring in rookie John Beck to start this weekend...Kyle Boller will take over for Ravens' starter Steve McNair...Oaklands' quarterback reulette wheel has stopped on Daunte Culpepper for this weekend...Even though Joey's bringing in the wins, the Falcons have stated the spot is Byron Leftwich's when he becomes healthy.

The Giants are beat up. Antonio Pierce, Plaxico Burress and Derrick Ward all missed Wednesday's team workout with injuries.

The Washington Redskins will be without receiver Brandon Lloyd for six weeks after breaking his collar bone on Wednesday. Lloyd injured himself on the final play of practice when he made a catch in the end zone which drove his shoulder hard into the groud. Brandon obviously is confused by the differnce of playing in practice and in a game.

Curtis Martin an owner? It may be a reality next year.

Popo in my crib News:
The popo are on the look out for a person who sent the University of Nebraska defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove two threatening voicemail messages. Nebraska has one of the worst defenses statistically in college football. Watch out threatening voicemailer, because the popo are on your tail!
