government is for suckers

Britian's defense procurement minister Lord Paul Drayson is taking an indefinte leave of absence to follow his dreams. Turns out Drayson has a passion for going fast and is attempting to compete in the American Le Mans series, "the North American counterpart to the French endurance race." The former pharmacueticals entrepreneur is calling his change in careers a "mid-life crisis." Which is so funny because usually men in their forties buy a Porsche not race one!

In a letter, Drayson called his unconventional move a,
"'Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity' and 'a key step towards my eventual dream of
success in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race.'" (source)

Lord Drayson was elected to the House of Lords in 2004 and was appointed to the Ministry of Defense in 2005.

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
