It's like...snowing?

NASCAR Update:
Jimmie Johnson drove into Homestead with a 86 point lead over Jeff Gordon. Johnson only needed to finish 18th to guarantee his second straight Nextel Cup Championship and with his seventh place finish Johnson was able to wrap up the title. Jeff Gordon must not be a huge fan of the Chase system because under the old system he would have won the Championship in 2004 and 2007. Don't worry Jeff, I don't like this system either.

Onto the race...Matt Kenseth's final race with his long time crew chief Robbie Reiser was a winning event. Kenseth lead early and often taking the race with almost a 1 second lead over Kurt Busch. Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s final race with DEI was not as memorable, Earnhardt was involved with two early cautions and finished 36th, 6 laps down. Meanwhile, Junior's DEI teammate Martin Truex, Jr. was in contention for the win all race finishing 6th to wrap up the 2007 season.
Race Results Points Standings

With his win in the Busch Series on Saturday, Jeff Burton clinched the owner's title for Richard Childress Racing. Carl Edwards won the Drivers Championship.

Congratulations to Ron Hornaday on picking up his third Truck Series Championship.

Ricky Rudd's excited about his retirement.

Following in Teresa Earnhardt's lead, Ray Evernham plans on scaling back his track appearances.

Brian France ruins my Monday morning by saying he isn't going anywhere. Come on, you don't want to go back to LA, hang out with plastic surgically enhanced people, remember the good old days, maybe make some mistakes. Of course they wouldn't be equal to the ones you've made to Nascar but still...

Football Update:
The Giants were able to hold of the lions intercepting two late passes by quarterback John Kinta in their 16-10 win. But the Giants suffered some key injuries by Mathias Kiwanuka (broken leg) and Brandon Jacobs (hamstring).

There some late game heroics by kickers this weekend including Adam Vinatieri's 24 yard field goal that gave the Colts the 13-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, Phil Dawson's field goal tied the game for the Browns and pushed it into overtime of course they had to return to the field after the field goal was intially declared not good. They won 33-30 over the Ravens competing a crazy game. Oh yeah, and the Jets beat the Steelers 19-16 in OT thanks to Mike Nugent's game winner.

The Dolphins still stuck after the Eagles handed them their 10th loss of the season, 17-7. While the Eagles won, the lost QB Donovan McNabb with an ankle injury...11th week of the season, that seems about the right time for McNabb to get injured.

Terrell Owens 4 TDs helped carry the Dallas Cowboys over the Washington Redskins, 28-23.

Sexy Rexy isn't too sexy anymore after fumbling in closing minutes and handing the Seahawks a 30-23 win over the Bears. Got anymore quarterback options?

Bills tight end Kevin Everett has left a Houston hospital 10 weeks after suffering a spinal cord injury.

Popo in my crib News:
20 members of Ole Miss' football team have been put on probation for stealing from hotels. The items, worth between $15-$40, were later paid for by the players. Watch out rebels, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: Who knew, teams in Boston actually lose? The New England Revolution lost the MLS championship to the Houston Dynamo, 2-1. They are so getting their Boston license revoked...While the Boston Celtics were losing their undefeated status with a 104-102 loss to the Orlando Magic. Sad day in Boston, huh?...LSU and Kansas top the BSC poll...The rumors are true, Lloyd Carr will be retiring as the Michigan Football team's head coach...With a 18-40 career record, it's no suprise that Baylor has fired head coach Guy Morriss...The Mets and Luis Castillo have agreed to a four year, $25 million deal...But about that whole Yorvit Torreabla person, seems the Mets have discovered he really isn't worth that 3 year $14.4 million deal and have broken off negotiations. Just sign Paul Lo Duca already...Speaking of negotiations, Kenny Rogers wont have Scott Boras working on his after Rogers fired him. End of an era?...The Blue Jays acquired Marco Scutaro from the Oakland A's for pitching prospects Graham Godfrey and Kristian Bell...Mariano Rivera will re-sign with the Yankees thanks to a $45 million, 3 year deal...Rivera's teammate Alex Rodriguez has been getting advise from Warren Buffett. Well, it's better than Boras.
