Li'l Romeo is going to College, ya'll

USC is going even more Hollywood. Percy Romeo Miller, aka Li’l Romeo announced he will be attending the southern California school to play basketball in 2008 and will be joined by his buddy DeMar DeRozan.

The pair decided to take the initiative and announced their decision at a press conference held at a posh Beverly Hills hotel. The rapper told reporters,

"This is the most important thing I've had to do and hopefully it sends a message to kids across the country that education is more important than money. Getting a college scholarship is more important than winning an American Music Award, and I plan to be the best student-athlete I can be at USC."

I think Li’l is really speaking to the heart of America. Many kids often have to decide between going to an Award Show and like going to college. It’s a tough decision, just ask the Olsen twins. To balance Romeo’s distorted view of the world, there was DeMar.

"To come from Compton and to be able to get an athletic scholarship at a major university like USC is the greatest feeling in the world. This is a place where I am able to work hard and reach my dreams and will hopefully take this to the pros after college."

Oh yeah, that sounds more realistic. The pair will be joined by Donte Smith, another recent USC recruit.

Miller, whose father Master P has had two NBA tryouts, is ranked in the top 15% of prep guards in the country.
