Sean Avery is not happy

Recently, Sean Avery has been making more news off the ice than on it. Whether its his romantic life (Elisha Cuthbert, Mary-Kate Olsen and Lake Bell) or his verbal rants, Avery is living up to his bad boy status. This time he’s not too thrilled with his off ice publicity. Following a shoving match with the Toronto Maple Leafs Jason Blake and Darcy Tucker a report from a local Toronto sports talk radio station had fingers pointing at Avery. According to FAN 590, the tiff resulted from comments made by the Ranger about Blake’s recent cancer diagnosis.

Avery says the comments were false, after all he like totally donates money to cancer related charities because he may be rugged on the outside but he has a heart of gold. Avery told the media through a team press release:

"I am extremely upset and hurt that false and damaging comments were attributed
to me regarding Jason Blake. I made no such comments. I have lost two grandfathers to cancer and have been a consistent contributor to multiple cancer-related charities, first and foremost, Hockey Fights Cancer."
He went on to say that he is actually looking to take legal action against the radio station,
"I am unable to comment further, as the matter is now being addressed by legal counsel."
The Rangers were fined $25,000 and the Maple Leafs were fined $10,000 for the incident. Avery and Tucker were unable to escape the wrath of the League being fined $2,500 and $1,000 respectively for their actions in the shoving match.
