Red Wings stuck in the mud

The Detroit Red Wings had some issues getting out of St. Louis after thier loss to the Blues on Tuesday. The team's charter, departing from St. Louis Downtown Airport in Cahokia, Ill, slid off the runway, getting its tires stuck in the damp grass. The plane stayed in that position while crews figured out "the quickest, easiest and safest way to get it onto the pavement."

Luckily for the team, no one was injured but they did have to change their plans. The team stayed at a hotel and then used the Blues practice facilty to prepare themselves for Saturday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks in Detroit. Another charter was expected to pick up the Red Wings later in the day. Hopefully this time it can keep all its tires on the pavement or else the teams taking a luxury bus back to Detroit.
