Tom Glavine is back! After five seasons in New York, Glavine has signed with the Atlanta Braves for a 1 year, $8 million contract. Glavine had opted out a deal with the Mets that would have brought him $13 million. The Mets instead bought him out for $3 million making his 2008 total at around $11 million.
Glavine had left the Braves following the 2002 season. During his time away he picked up his 300th career victory and a NL East title but its probably his final start with the Mets that will become his legacy, helping cap one of the worst collapses in major league history.
Tom's return with the Braves has also signaled his bobblehead's return to the top of my TV where his is joined by golfing buddy John Smotlz and Chipper Jones. Welcome home Tommy, it hasn't been the same without you. Now, win us some games!
It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
