Braves Round Up

Octavio Dotel
After the Braves declined Octavio Dotel's $5.5 million option last week, Dotel has officially filed for free agency. Dotel was acquired by the Braves from the Kansas City Royals for Kyle Davies at the trade deadline this season but saw very limited action after injuring his right shoulder. Dotel underwent Tommy John surgery in 2005 before missing the beginning of the 2007 season with an oblique strain while still with the Royals. Dotel's time in Atlanta might not be over, but he'd have to come back a much cheaper rate and understand that he'd probably not be the closer since the Braves have Rafael Soriano.

Tom Glavine
Braves GM Frank Wren has let it be known that the Braves are interested Tom Glavine. Wren has already contacted Glavine's agent Gregg Clifton and can begin financial negotiations next week after Glavine's exclusivity with the Mets ends. Tommy has won at least 13 games in the last three years and recorded 23 quality starts for the Metros in 2007. He was with drafted by the Braves in 1984 and stayed with the team until 2002.

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
