The there maybe such a thing as too much Yankees news edition

Baseball Update:
Reggie Jackson who is serving as a special advisor and spring training instructor for the Yankees has been ordered out of uniform by MLB for running onto the field during the Yankees and Devil Rays maylay last week.

Joba Chamberlain will hear if he's heading to the pen for the start of the season this week. If I were the Yankees, I'd groom this kid to be a closer, but that's just me.

In other Yankees News, the Bombers will be headed up to Virginia to play an exihibtion game against Virginia Tech on Tuesday. It seems like the team is very excited to bring joy to a campus that has been filled with such pain over the last 12 months.

Finally, Andy Pettitte threw pain free in their 8-4 win over the Red Sox.

Dice-K will make the season opening start for the Red Sox in his native Japan on March 25th.

Mike Hampton is looking like he's over his groin injury after allowing just one run in 4 1/3 innings in the Braves 4-2 loss to the Cardinals. For more Braves news head over to our Braves Blog.

The hits just keep coming for the Mets after second baseman Jose Valentin said he was heading back to New York to get a shot to alleviate pain from a pinched nerve in his neck. He'll probably be out for the Mets opener in March. Their opponents, the Nationals didn't fair much better after learning Shawn Hill will most likely be unable to play for their home opener in March. But it was slightly better for the Mets because they won 7-3.

After 61 years, the Dodgers have played their final game at Dodgertown. Of course, there was no manager more perfect to close down the Vero Beach icon than Tommy Lasorda and there was no other way to play the game than to lose 12-10 to the Astros underscoring the Bums that they always will be whether in Brooklyn or Los Angeles.

The Astros will need a back-up second baseman as Kazuo Matsui will begin his season on the DL.
The Oakland A's are packing their bags for their flight to Japan that will depart on Wednesday Night.

Nascar Update:
Kevin Harvick is feeling bad about squeezing his off-track buddy Tony Stewart into the wall during the closing laps of the Food City 500.

The Food City 500 had a 2% increase in ratings over the year before. Earnhardt, Jr. shine starting to fade since he hasn't made it into Victory Lane?

No Cup race this weekend, but there is a Nationwide Series race. Click here for the entry list.

Increased parity leading to the Hendrick's slump or is it the fact that Tom Cruise was hanging out with them at Fontana. It seems like everything he touches these days turns to dust. Just look at Katie Holmes' career.

With Kyle Petty on the outside looking in, Petty Enterprises is thinking about switching points between its two teams because Bobby Labonte is eligible for the Champions provisional. I think it may be time for Kyle to retire.
