Fans, player drop suit against the Patriots

Three fans and a former St. Louis Rams player have dropped a suit against the New England Patriots alleging the team cheated during their 2002 Super Bowl win. Among other things, the group was hoping that their suit would force former Patriots employee Matt Walsh to talk, but it seems the commissioner and the government are doing enough pressing.

Eric Deters a lawyer for former Rams player Willie Gary who was a plaintiff in the suit said,

“We’re not giving up on the case. We just want to back off and see what he has to say before we make a move,” referring to the Federal intervention.
The lawsuit by the fans, which included two that attended the 2002 Super Bowl and one ticket licensee, was accusing the Patriots of fraud, unfair trade practices and engaging in a "pattern of racketeering." The group was hoping to make it a class action lawsuit which would include Super Bowl attendees, all Rams employees and any Ram seat licensee for the 2001-2002 season.

The Patriots defeated the Rams in 2002 Super Bowl 20-17.
