Rangers to play final game at Yankee Stadium?

If you were listening or watching Mike and Mike this morning you would have heard about this crazy idea floating around New York City. The idea would have the Rangers and mostly likely either the Islanders or Devils, not the Yankees playing in the final game at the old Yankee Stadium, closing out the 85 year old relic with the outdoor hockey game. The game follows in the footsteps of the wildly popular Winter Classic that was staged in Buffalo this year between the Sabres and Penguins on New Years Day. The idea has become such a big hit that the NBA is offering their own outdoor game in October.

The real question is whether the Rangers should be the team included in the final sporting event at Stadium or whether the game should be the Yankees, the primary and namesake tenant of the Bronx institution. Currently, the Yankees themselves are on board, probably with floating dollar signs in their eyes. However, the thought of the Yankees not closing out the stadium seems wrong. Maybe I shouldn't be so sentimental.
