An end to one streak, beginning of another?

Baseball Update:
Barry Bonds' current unemployed status is right in line with the country's failing economy. But Player's Union President Donald Fehr does not think that an appropriate reason and is vowing to investigate.

Curt Schilling will be among the 30 Red Sox players headed to Japan on Wednesday.

Speaking of overseas trips, Dodgers pitcher Chan Ho Park is still upset about being denied the opportunity of signing autographs for Korean fans after the game by Chinese security.

The Yankees made an emotional trip to the Virginia Tech campus on Tuesday. While the team took the field in an exhibition game bringing smiles to the students and families in attendance the organization made a $1 million contribution to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.

Milton Bradly who famously tore his ACL during a blow-up with umpire Mike Winter while on first base is going to test his knee in the Texas Rangers Cactus League game against the Angels.

Bradly's new teammate Josh Hamilton came to the forefront of baseball's consciousness because he was able to kick drugs, but this year may just be his true breakout season.

Good news, bad news for the Brewers. Bad news, Chris Capuano left his last start with elbow soreness will miss his next scheduled start. Good news, Yovani Gallardo threw a simulated game and will make his first start of the spring on Friday after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

Are people ready for another star Longoria, Evan Longoria?

Cole Hamels pitched six strong innings in the Phillies 4-2 win over the Rays.

One of the Phillies newest additions, Kris Benson has some weird pets. Click here for the details.

The Orioles have decided to go with George Sherrill as their closer. But with a lack luster starting rotation, we're doubting he'll have many opportunities.

Meanwhile, the Reds are sending Jeremy Affeldt to the bullpen after a poor spring showing.

If you were hoping to get that Obama baseball shirt, you're out of luck. The website selling the tee, obamaofdreams.com has closed its doors or maybe it's better to say it pulled down its site. These internet businesses kill all the cliches.

Sad news, former Cincinnati Red Bob Purkey has died at the age of 78.

Nascar Update:
Denny Hamlin may have gotten screwed by his fuel cell plus other problems down at JGR.

Steve Boyer will replace Brandon Thomas as crew chief on the #96 Toyota driven by J.J. Yeley.

Just looking at this kid makes me feel old, but Landon Cassill says he's ready to make his first Nationwide Series race this weekend at Nashville. Click here to read his blog.

Kenny Wallace will race the #28 in the Nationwide Series for the rest of the year.

Juan Pablo Montoya is heading home to Colombia for this weekend's rare Nascar off week.

Foxsports is not one to let a golden opportunity pass it by. So you shouldn't be surprised that they are selling digger t-shirts. Maybe cute for kids under 12, but there is no reason this should come in adult sizes.
