The Red Sox and A's arrive in Japan

The Red Sox and A’s finally landed in Japan a day after it seemed like the Sox were putting the kibosh on the whole thing. And frankly it showed in their fashion choices. They largely came overseas in jeans and t-shirts. Just look at Tim Wakefield, he looks like he’s going camping.

In fact the best dressed Red Sox players had to have been Dice-K and Hideki Okajima who paired their denim pants with a blazer (Dice-K) and cute oxford and windbreaker combo(Okajima).

Oh, and I totally understand why Terry Francona should always wear a hat. It really gives him a more youthful appearance.

On the other hand, the A’s came out swinging, at least in the Japanese airport runway. My hats off to Bobby Crosby, his clean cut suit is a perfect fit giving him an effortless feel. And can you imagine walking off the plane without a wrinkle. That takes talent my friends. Or a steamer, but that would be awkward getting steamed in the terminal.

Joe Blanton will not be on the Paris runways…well…probably ever, but you know what that didn’t stop him from finding a great fitting suit that almost hides the belly pudge. He proves that it’s all about fit. Do you hear that Derek Jeter, it’s all about fit!

Even Travis Buck was able to pull off the grey suit peach shirt combo. Now if only he could work on that hair.

It seems for now, the A’s have won the battle, but with two games to be played it remains to be seen who will win the war.
It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
