Three is the Magic Number

Baseball Update:
Congrats to Chipper Jones on his 400th career homerun. The blast came in the Braves 7-5 win over the Marlins and helped keep Jones at healthy .418 batting average.

Dodgers outfielder Matt Kempt and Rockies catcher Yorvit Torreabla may not be the only players missing a couple of games because of a brawl after one broke out during the Red Sox 7-1 win over the Rays forcing the ejection of Coco Crisp and James Shields. But the action wasn't limited to just the field, Manny Ramirez who had five RBIs in the game had to be separated from teammate Kevin Youkilis in the Red Sox dugout.

The mustache is really doing wonders for Jason Giambi who belted a walk off homer in the Yanks 9-8 win over the Blue Jays.

Elijiah Duke's 10th inning long ball rallied the Nats passed the Cardinals 10-9 to split the doubleheader and stop their four game slide.

Adam Jones' go ahead homer slid the Orioles passed the Twins, 3-2. The Twins got some other bad news sending shortstop Nick Punto back to the 15 day DL with a strained left hamstring. They called up rookie infielder Matt Marcri to take his spot.

Meanwhile, Kosuke Fukudome played hero for the Cubs knocking in the game winning run with a single in the ninth in Chicago's 5-4 win over the Dodgers. Plus it looks like their sale is proceeding with priliminary bids to come in in July.

The Padres Paul McAnulty played hero by taking one for the team and getting beamed by a Scott Schoeneweis pitch to allow the winning run to walk home in the Padres 2-1 victory over the Mets. But it wasn't all smiles for San Diego as second baseman Tadahito Iguchi left the game with a separated shoulder and will be heading to the DL.

C.C. Sabathia and the Indians are still having some trouble after falling to the Rangers, 9-4. Goodness, where are those scoreless inning streaks guys? I'm not saying this because I'm getting hamered in my fantasy league because of you Sabathia, but because...well fine that's why.

Someone Sabathia probably should be emulating is Cole Hamels who pitched a complete game shut out as the Phillies blanked the Reds 5-0.

Speaking of the Phillies, shortstop Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino are getting all wrapped up in Obama Fever.

The Rays took prep star Tim Beckham with the number one pick in the draft. The Rays are hoping this will be their final #1 overall draft pick for a good long while. Click here to see which player your team picked.

Lesbians be ware, your making out sessons are not appreciated at Safeco Field. Save that for your trips to Yankee Stadium or Dodger Stadium or Lindsay Lohan's hotel room where they're more liberal about that kind of stuff.

Nascar Upate:
Triangle magic is in store for the Cup boys as they head over to Pocono this weekend. The "roval" as it is often called has wide sweeping turns that all act like their from independent tracks around the 2 mile triangle. 3 is an important number for Kyle Busch as well as he tries to race in three races at three separate tracks this weekend. (Which is still not as cool as doing the Memorial Day Double but is still pretty cool) Follow Busch and the rest of the boys as they take on Pocono this weekend in the Pocono 500. Coverage begins at 12:30 PM on TNT.

Look out for Terry Labonte this weekend who will be racing in the #45 Dodge in place of Kyle Petty this weekend. He'll be joined in the Petty Enterprise stable by his brother Bobby who races the #43 for Petty.

Mike Skinner will start on the front row for his eighth consecutive Truck start while rookie Justin Marks becomes the first rookie to start on the pole since 2006.

Penske Racing South is in danger of losing its sponsor Alltel after the wireless network agreed to merge with Verizon. Richard Childress Racing went through a similiar transition when Cingular and AT&T merged.

Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s "friend" says Junebug ain't that good. But said "friend" prefers not to let his name leak out because he's still ok with free loading off him.

Popo in my crib News:
So this sounds a little sketchy...convicted steriods dealer David Jacobs and a 30 year old female were found shot to death in a Plano, TX home. Jacobs had just met with the NFL to give them names of players he sold steriods to prior to his death. Something tells me there are going to be a few less players in the league next year. Watch out murders, because the popo are on your tail!

UPDATE: Hey turns out the narc shot himself. So I guess there won't be as many players jumping aboard the Roger Goodell suspension train. Too bad.

UNC star TY Lawson was charged with driving while impaired early Friday morning. Lawson was stopped because of the loud music coming out his car when he asked to do a field sobriety test which apparently did not go so well. Lawson has declared for the NBA draft but has yet to hire an agent allowing him to return to the school. Although with this little blemish, he's probably praying he gets drafted! Watch out Ty, because the popo are on your tail!

News&Notes: Boston's big third quarter helped them pass the Lakers 98-88 in the first game of the NBA Finals...Paul Pierce scared Celtics fans when he left the game early with a knee injury but was able to return...It's the finals, unless a bone is sticking out where it shouldn't you get your ass back into the game! You can rest for the next three months...Dwyane Wade says he's not getting traded...The Raiders signed running back Darren McFadden to a six year, $60 million deal...As much as Jason Taylor tries, the Dolphins still want him back...F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen is hinting at retirement after the 2009 season when his contract with Ferrari runs out...Justin Gatlin the IOC is just not that into you and neither was a Court of Arbitration for Sports after they upheld a four year ban on the sprinter for his use of performance enhancing drugs. Please, if you really wanted to be in the Olympics, you wouldn't have been dump enough to get caught...Finally, apparently there's some sort of big horse race this weekend. Something having to do with UPS and a crown. I don't know, I haven't watched racing since the court ordered me to stay at least 500 yards away from the OTB. Painful story, I prefer not to talk about it.
