Polish official stumbles into his own stereotype

Threats are a funny thing. If there is no merit in them, they aren’t very…well…threatening. This is the lesson Polish politician Miroslav Orzechowski should learn. Orzechowski threatened to take away German soccer stud Lukas Podolski’s passport. Only problem is, his is issued through Germany. Now I know what you’re thinking, why in the heck would some Polish politician try to take away a passport for a German player? Podolski was actually born in Poland but moved to Germany when he was two. The striker said that the Polish team never showed any interest until he started playing in the Under-21s. By then it was too late. And when he scored two goals against Poland on Sunday, it was really too late. I guess the moral of the story is, have better scouts team Poland. Oh and if you’re going to threaten someone, do a better job of it like accidently detain them in the airport saying they’re a drug mule, then you won’t run into this whole crazy empty threat business.
