No baseball, I'm bored!

Baseball Notes: Mariano Rivera said he is going to test the free agent market...Scott Boras says he's got big plans if ARod opts out of his contract with the Yankees. But are there other teams willing to give him that kind of money?...The Detroit Tigers picked up Ivan Rodriguez's $13 million option...The Phillies extended manager Charlie Manuel's contract to 2010 after leading his team to their first playoff appearance since 1993...Tony LaRussa said he will not make a decision on the whether he will stay in St. Louis until they find a new GM...Rockies manager Clint Hurdle has been fighting the flu and keeping his distance from his players. Good call Clint!...Curt Schilling will be the starting pitcher in game 2 for the Red Sox...8,000 tickets were reportedly available for Game 1 of the NLCS in Arizona.

NASCAR Update:
Reed Sorenson's team was fined $25,000 and docked 25 points for coming in too low following Sunday's race at Talladega.

2007 IRL champ Dario Franchitti will make his NASCAR debut in the Truck Series at Martinsville. Franchitti finished 17th at Talladega in the ARCA series.

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is on the entry list for the Charlotte Busch Series race on Friday, while Bill Elliott is on the entry list for the Cup race on Saturday night.

Team Red Bull has denied reports that they are going to purchase Robert Yates Racing.

Michigan International Speedway announced a $10 million face lift which will include a new scoreboard and improvments to the grandstands.

Richard Childress Racing will be hosting a Fan Appreciation Day on Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM at its Welcome, NC facility.

UPDATE: National Stock Car Racing Commission have upheld NASCAR's penatlies levied against Carl Edwards and #99 Office Depot Ford team.

A fourth man, Devin Jefferies has been arrested in connection with the murder of Memphis student Taylor Bradford last week. Watch out Devin, because the popo are on your tail!

Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct stemming from a summer incident with two women at a bar. Barnett's lawyer told reporters his client will enter a not guilty plea. If found guilty, he faces six months in prison and a $2,000 fine. Wathc out Nick, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: Matt Leinart will be out for the rest of the season after breaking his collarbone during Sunday's game...The Cincinnati Bengals will be without Johnathan Joseph after he violated the league's substance abuse policy. Joseph will forfeit his salary for the next two games...Vinny Testaverde is back. He signed with the Carolina Panthers after the Panthers lost Jake Delhomme for the season with an elbow injury...Chris Simms was placed on IR for the Tampa Bay Bucs. Simms has not played since rupturing a spleen last year...An arbitrator said that Michael Vick must give the Falcons back his $20 million bonus after it was ruled that Vick knew he actions would void the contract...Lloyd Lake, a sports marketer agreed to meet with the NCAA in connection with his relationship with Reggie Bush while Bush was at USC...Texas Tech said it would not allow Vick related t-shirts to their football game against Texas A&M...And finally, Freddy Adu will be back playing soccer for the national team in their exhibition game at Switzerland.
