Mischief Night

NASCAR Update:
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. tested his Hendrick Motorsports Chevy at Atlanta on Monday. For testing photos click here. Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle paced AM and PM practice.

Nascar has admitted that water got into the fuel used in the Pep Boys Auto 500 at Atlanta on Sunday.

Atlanta's overnight ratings droped 16.7%.

Nascar is considering a change to the points system for the Nationwide Series. In 2009, any driver in the top 35 in points in the Sprint Cup will not be eligible to gain any Nationwide points.

Wyler Racing and South Point Racing will merge their Craftsman Truck Series teams.

Football Update:
Brett Farve tossed an 83 yard touchdown pass to propel the Packers over the Denver Broncos 19-13 in OT.

Tony Romo has signed a six year $67 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys.

In other quaterback news, Chad Pennington has been benched and will be replaced by Kellen Clemens for the New York Jets in Sunday's game against Washington.

DeAngelo Hall will pay the full $100,000 fine for his September 23rd outburst.

The NFL and NLFPA have donated $250,000 to the Chargers Fire Relief Fund.

Popo in my crib News:
LSU has benched Ryan Perrilloux and Derrick Odom due to their connection in a club brawl over the weekend. These two are no strangers to the popo. Perrilloux was cited for using his brother's drivers license to get into a Baton Rouge Casino. He is also a "person of interest" in a federal conterfeiting probe. Odom, on the other hand, was arrested for allegedly damaging another students car as well as threating that student. Watch out Ryan and Derrick, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: Don't forget to pick up your free taco today from 2 PM-5 PM at Taco Bell...Joe Girardi is expected to be named the new Yankees manager on Tuesday...A new report has Joe Torre going to the Dodgers replacing manager Grady Little. Don Mattingly, who was up for the Yankees job is expected to be named bench coach with the Dodgers...Major League Baseball is not happy with ARod's choice to announce his free agency during game 4 of the World Series. So there are people who are willing to pay $30 million for a guy who is selfish and unable to get it done in the post season?...Barry Bonds is officially a free agent...Torri Hunter is putting the Twins on the clock...Red Sox parade is scheduled for Tuesday...Jaromir Jagr proved how tough hockey players are after he lost a few teeth but was still able to get back into the game to score the winning goal for the Rangers in their 3-1 win over the Lightning...Brazil will host the 2014 World Cup...Penny Hardaway made the Heat's final roster...And finally, today is the start to the NBA season.
