Baseball Notes: The Rockies added Willy Taveras to the NLCS roster...The Chicago White Sox have hired former Kansas City Royal manager Buddy Bell to serve as the director of minor league instruction...Washington Nationals Shawn Hill will undergo surgery on his left shoulder...The St. Louis Cardinals and Russ Springer have agreed on a one year contract...Mariano Rivera says his decision may hinge on whether the Yankees keep Joe Torre...Which won't be announced for several days.

Braves Update:
The Braves will begin their season at home for the first time in four years. And just in time for my birthday, the Bravos will take on the Metsies from April 4-6 at the Ted. They will also welcome the Mariners while not playing Boston. I guess they were listening to Chipper Jones! Of course this is tentative, an official schedule will be released later.

NASCAR Update:
It's official, Patrick Carpentier will be in the #10 car for Gillett Evernham Motorsports in 2008.

Sprint Car star Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. has signed with Roush Fenway Racing to drive stock cars next season.

Martinsville has made some improvements to the facility for the October 21st race. They have more paved parking spots and a VIP RV area.

News & Notes: Jerry Buss, owner of the Lakers says he's willing to listen to trade offers for Kobe Bryant. He wants to leave, he told two teenage boys in a parking lot that he was ready to go...Washington Wizards center Etan Thomas will undergo open heart surgery on Thursday. The 29 year old will most likely miss the season to recover but the surgery does not signal the end of his NBA career...Allan Houston will be back with the Knicks...The Celtics were able to easily handle the Minnesota Timberwolves in their 92-81 win in London on Wednesday. Ray Allen scored 28 points in the win...Even though she may be outspoken that doesn't take away from the fact that she's a good goalie, which is probably why Hope Solo was selected to the US team which will be playing a three game series against Mexico...Doper Marion Jones' teammate Passion Richardson wants to keep the bronze medal she earned while on a relay team with Jones...For Terrell Owens words are best written rather than said, at least not until after Sunday's game where the 5-0 Cowboys take on the 5-0 Patriots...Tommy Becker became the second Minnesota football player to quit the team. Becker plans on transfering at the end of the semester...In creepy news, the body of George Gipp was exhumed for DNA testing. The request came from his family and was filmed by ESPN for an upcoming story...And finally, congrats to Big from "Rob & Big." Chris "Big Black" Boykin told People that he is going to be a daddy!
