Sugar induced coma

Hope you all had a nice Easter yesterday. I am still recovering from a sugar induced coma brought on by the mounds and mounds of sweet treats I ate yesterday. I did go 47 days without, so I figured I should catch up. Anyway, here’s the latest:



Baseball: Mets left fielder Daniel Murphy's error lead to two runs in the second inning for the Fish, and that would be all they needed to collect the 2-1 victory...Meanwhile, Reed Johnson's spectacular catch robbed Prince Fielder of a grand slam in the Cubs 8-5 win over the Brewers...Good news for the Cubbies, Geovany Soto should be back on Wednesday...The Indians have finally won a game...While the Nationals still have not...The Braves Tom Glavine left a minor league start early with shoulder discomfort. Uh-oh...Randy Wolf went seven innings, allowing just one run as the Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks, 3-1...In other news, the D'Backs will be without ace Brandon Webb after sending him to the DL with a tight shoulder...Matt Stairs again came to the Phillies rescue wtih a two-run pinch hit homer that broke up a 5-5 tie to give Philadelphia a 7-5 advantage...Benches cleared after Josh Beckett sailed a pitch over Bobby Abreu's head. The Angels were able to regroup with the 5-4 win...Steroids are back in the headlines after a New York Times article reported Troy Glaus' admission to using in 2003 and 2004.

College Basketball: North Carolina freshman Ed Davis said he will return for the 2009-10 season.

Football: Byron Leftwich has agreed to a two year, $7.5 million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers...Sources whisper that veteran LB Zach Thomas will sign a one year, $2 million contract with the Chiefs.

Hockey:A two goal rally in the third period gave the Rangers the 4-3 win and spoiled the Flyers chance at home-ice advantage in the first round...Nikolai Khabibulin collected his 41st career shutout as the Blackhawks blanked the Wings, 3-0...The Blues captured the sixth spot in the West after edging the Avs, 1-0...The NHL playoffs officially get underway on Wednesday. Check this out: Sorry ladies, but it appears Roger Federer is off the market after marrying long time girlfriend Miroslava "Mirka" Vavrinec on Saturday in Switzerland. The couple are expecting their first child this summer.
