Baseball: Maybe not the best day for some of baseball's elite pitchers as CC Sabathia, Cliff Lee and Jake Peavy all got rocked in their opening day starts...Mark Teixeira, who joined Sabathia in his Yankees debut also got off to a rocky start. Maybe it was all the booing and no it was not me, I didn't even go to the game!...Ken Griffey, Jr. hit a homerun in his first start in a Mariners uniform since 1999. Seattle stalled the Twins, 6-1...The Pirates scored four runs in the ninth off of Cardinals closer Jason Motte in their 6-4 victory...Tony Clark and Felipe Lopez both hit a homerun for both sides of the plate as the Diamondbacks outlasted the Rockies, 9-8...Johan Santana tossed just under six great innings and the Mets bullpen actually held onto the lead, edging the Reds, 2-1. Basketball: Congratulations to Michael Jordan, David Robinson, John Stockton, Jerry Sloane and C. Vivian Stringer on being elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame...Manu Ginobili is done for the rest of the season including the playoffs...Rajon Rondo limped out of practice with a twisted ankle. Luckily for the Celtics, it does not appear to be serious...The Clippers have suspended Zach Randolph after he was arrested for DUI on Sunday.


College Basketball: UNC rolled past Michigan State, 89-72, to capture the Men's NCAA basketball title...A day after turning down the job, Xavier's Sean Miller has accepted a job at Arizona...Josh Pastner has been promoted to head coach at Memphis.

Football: The Bucs have extended Kellen Winslow, Jr.'s contract by six years...The Raiders have agreed with Jeff Garcia on a one year deal...Plaxico Burress won a grievence against the Giants that allows him collect $1 million in bonuses. That could be the last court case he wins for a while...How bad is it in Detroit? The Lions may pass on the number 1 draft pick.

Hockey: The Flames can clinch the Northeast Title on Tuesday thanks to their 4-1 victory over the Kings...Dany Heatly scored two goals in 38 seconds as the Senators topped the Habs, 3-2...Marian Hossa scored twice as the Red Wings beat the Sabres, 4-1.

Nascar: Brian France does not have much of a sense of humor.

Best of the Rest: The son of Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz and two other football players have been charged with public intoxication. That's going to be an akward conversation.
