Bases loaded walks



Baseball: The Phillies rallied from a seven run deficit with eight runs in the seventh including four scored on bases loaded walks to take down the Braves and avoid a sweep, 12-11...The Phillies received their World Series rings prior to the start of the game...In a battle of the feature stars, Scott Kazmir got the better of Jon Lester as the Rays cruised to a 7-2 victory...The Brewers Yovani Gallardo hit what would turn out to be the game winning three run homer that effectively ruined Randy Johnson's debut with the Giants...It was double good news for the Twins who edged the Mariners, 6-5 after injured catcher Joe Mauer took batting practice at Minnesota's spring training facility in Florida...Ichiro has been cleared to play after being placed on the DL with a bleeding ulcer...Arizona's Brandon Webb will miss his next start with shoulder stiffness...That isn't too surprising according to a report that says the D-Backs removed a three year, $54 million extension from the table after an insurance firm voiced concerns over his arm...Teams payroll went down $47 million from this time last year. Most shocking, the Yankees actually trimmed payroll by over $7 million. So even with their $400 million+ signings this off-season, they were being fiscally responsible...Finally, the World Series could get an earlier start time!

Basketball: The Mavs sealed a playoff birth with their 130-101 rout of the Jazz...While the Suns were eliminated despite their 105-100 defeat of the Hornets...Phoenix center Shaq voiced a desire to head to the Mavs next season, but owner Mark Cuban isn't really into the idea. Well there is always Kazaam 2...The Cavs moved to 38-1 at home with their 98-86 downing of the Wizards...The Celtics outlasted the Nets, 106-104...The Trail Blazers staged a 19 point rally to stun the Spurs, 95-83...The Lakers could have Andrew Bynum back on Thursday...Sad news, former NBA plyaer Marvin Webster was found dead in a hotel at the age of 56.

Football: On a day when TO actually showed up for voluntary workouts, the Bills learned they will be without their RB Marshawn Lynch for three games due to that whole handgun incident...Speaking of the popo, Bengals cornerback Leon Hall was arrested in southwest Ohio and charged with drunken driving. Watch out Leon, because the popo are on your tail!

Hockey: Fedor Tyutin scored the game winner in a shoot-out to give the Blue Jackets the 4-3 win and their first ever trip to the playoffs...Ryan Miller made 32 saves in the Sabres 3-1 victory over the Maple Leafs...The Sharks captain Patrick Marleau and forward Ryane Clowe are expected to be in the line-up for San Jose's game on Thursday...The Senators have rewarded interim coach Coary Clouston with a two year extension...Former Canadiens GM Serge Savard says he's willing to buy the Habs, if they're for sale.

Nascar: Hunt Brothers Pizza has signed on to sponsor the #44 car driven by A.J. Allmendinger. The sponshorship will keep the car on the track through September.

Best of the Rest: A French agency is claiming Lance Armstrong avoided a drug testing. I am so beyond bored of Armstrong and drug testing stories...According to the Puerto Rican popo boxing champ Miguel Cotto got into a fist fight with his trainer/uncle Evangelista Cotto. Somehow I don't think going up against a WBO welterweight champion is a good call.
