More sadness in Anaheim

A game after a fan was killed following a fight in Angels Stadium, the Angels have another piece of heartbreak on their hands. Rookie pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed in a car accident just hours after pitching six innings in a no-decision Anaheim loss to the A’s. It was just his fourth major league start.

The 22 year-old was reportedly one of at least four people involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash that occured after a minivan ran a red light in Fullerton and hit two cars, killing three and injuring a fourth person. The driver of the minivan fled the scene but was picked up about a mile away by the popo.

This is an extremely sad situation. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those effected by the accident.

UPDATE: Tonight's game between the Angels and A's is still questionable, although I imagine it will most likely be canceled. I don't think anyone would blame the Angels for canceling the game.

UPDATE 2: Tonight's game has been officially canceled.
