According to the New York Times, there will be a new voice at Yankee Stadium this season after long time public address announced Bob Sheppard retires. The 98 year old has been with the team since 1951.
A replacement has not been announced but the Yankees will use Paul Olden for the two exhibition games on April 3rd and 4th.
Gee, at 98, I would just be excited to be alive, let alone announcing games at Yankee Stadium.

UPDATE: Bob Sheppard’s son Paul is refuting earlier reports that his father is retiring as the announcing voice of the Yankees. Serves me right for believing everything that is written in the New York Times. I mean why did I decide to start yesterday?
