Baseball News:
The Tigers have locked up centerfielder Curtis Granderson with a fiver year contract worth $30.25 million. With incentives the deal could be worth $43.25 million. No need to shop at Walmart now, Grandy.

Now that the Mets have signed Johan Santana to a monster contract, Indians pitcher C.C. Sabathia will be wanting some serious cash when he becomes a free agent. The question is, can the Indians provide it?

The Erik Bedard trade could be closer than you think.

The Red Sox signed first baseman Sean Casey to a one year, $800,000 deal.

The Dodgers signed Rudy Seanez to a one year, $550,000 contract.

Former Atlanta Brave Willy Aybar is in custody at a Dominican Republic jail for alleged domestic violence against his wife Bani. Aybar has been rotting away in his native land since Thursday. Watch out Willy, because the popo are on your tail!

Jim Palmer was awarded $890,000 for damages resulting from what he called a botched eye surgery. Palmer, who was a pitcher with the Orioles from 1969-1984 and currently serves as a broadcaster, claimed "he gets headaches, sees spots and sometimes has other visual problems as a result of the botched surgery." Watch out eye doctor, because the popo are on your tail!

Le-Bron James (clap, clap, clap clap clap) pleaded no contest to speeding chargers the Cleveland Cavs forward sustained on his 23rd birthday. James agreed to play the $259 fine to settle the ticket. Watch out LeBron, because the popo are on your tail!

His son Pat will take over...Dick Vitale will be back in an announcers booth on Wednesday just in time for Duke and UNC's head to head match up...Louisville took care of Marquette 71-57...Patriots CB Ellis Hobbs not only hurt his pride, he also physically hurt himself in the final Giants TD play during the Super Bowl. Hobbs will undergo surgery for a sports hernia and groin injury...Following their Super Bowl loss, Randy Moss and Tom Brady have pulled themselves out of the Pro Bowl...Meanwhile, the Giants Sam Madison, Kevin Dockery and R.W. McQuarters were cheered on by fans at Monday night's Knicks game...Michael Vick maybe in jail, but when he gets out he'll get to enjoy the nearly $20 million a federal judge ruled he was allowed to keep...The Mav's rebounded from a terrible loss with a 107-98 win over the Magic...The Jazz handled the Hornets, 110-88...Rick Tocchet could be back as the assistant coach of the Coyotes real soon...Edmonton Oilers' Shawn Horcoff will be out for the rest of the season with a torn labrum in his left shoulder...The Devils fought back from a 2-0 defecit to beat the Penguins 4-3 in OT.
