Going through USAToday.com this morning I found a little article about John Wilson, a 53 year old outfielder for Penn State-Altoona's baseball team. Wilson is in his final year with the team, but began his road to playing baseball when he was a kid attending games at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh. After steering himself down a path that probably included a few run ins with the popo, Wilson checked himself into a rehab facility. It was following his time at the Gateway Rehabilitation Center that he rediscovered baseball again, joining a summer league in 1987. Life has a funny way of presenting you the right people when you least expect it, like Wilson's teammates Joe Piotti, who is now the coach at Penn State-Altoona. So it was no surprise that Wilson's enrollment in the school to study human development and family studies led him onto the Division III school's baseball team. For the full story click here.
It's been fun blogging with you,

While Franco was an All-Star and posted above-average hitting statistics throughout his career, he is best known for being the oldest regular position player in Major League history. Franco is the all-time hits leader among Dominican-born players.
