Crazy City

Baseball Update:
Lots of deadline signings including: Khalil Greene's 2 year, $11 million deal with the Padres...The Twins landed Livan Hernandez...Garrett Atkins' one year, $4,387,500 bump in his Rockies contract...Kevin Youkilis' signed a one year, $3 million contract with the Red Sox...Keith Foulke signed a one year contract with the A's worth at least $700,000...And minor league contracts given to Doug Mientkiewicz (Pirates), Mike Sweeney (A's), Tony Armas, Jr. (Mets) and Steve Trachsel (Orioles.)

The Mariners acquired pitcher Erik Bedard from the Orioles for five players.

According to John Rocker, he tested positive for steriods in 2000 and Commissioner Bud Selig knew but did nothing about it. Of course, Rocker's word is somewhat in question after saying he never was prescribed HGH and then admitting he was prescribed the drug.

Andy Pettitte, Kirk Radomski and Chuck Knoblauch have been dropped from Wednesday's congressional hearing leaving all eyes on Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee.

Craig Biggio has agreed to a 3 year personal services contract with the Astros, you know in case this whole thing with Clemens blows up in the Astros faces, they still have one former big leaguer to count on.

Nascar Update:
The weekend kind of went like this:

Practice crash one...

Practice crash two (aka the one with Tony and Kurt)...
