Tom Brady gives gisele the boot

Football Update:
I don't know if you've heard, but the Giants and Patriots are going to the Super Bowl after their respective title game wins. The Patriots are already a 13 to 14 point favorite.

The ratings for the Giants OT win over the Packers on Sunday were an estimated 31.7 million or a 46 share, up 21% from last year's Bears victory over the Saints.

According to Bill Belichick, Patriots defensive lineman Richard Seymour did not play dirty. "That's the last thing I would say about Richard," Belichick said.

Patriots QB Tom Brady looked to have sustained an injury during the AFC title game wearing a cast on his foot while walking around NYC with girlfriend Gisele. Click here to see the tmz.com video.

Chargers QB Philip Rivers underwent surgery before Sunday's loss to the Patriots in the AFC title game. Rivers will undergo a more arthoscopic surgery to repair his torn ACL and is expected to be out for the next six months which would make him ready to play come training camp. Rivers really gets the warrior title in my book.

Coaching news: Tony Dungy will be back with the Colts for at least 2008...The last Giants head coach to lead the team to the Super Bowl, Jim Fassel interviewed with the Redskins...The Falcons will have to wait another two weeks to interview Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.

The Buffalo Bills will be without defensive end Anthony Hargrove for the entire 2008 season after he was suspended without pay for violated the League's substance abuse policy for the third time.

Baseball Update:
The Rockies are reportedly close to extending shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to a record 6 years, $30 million deal that would break Grady Sizemore's 6 year, $23.5 million extension with the Cleveland Indians in 2006. It would be the largest extension given to a player with less than two years Major League experience.

The Rockies also locked up MVP runner up Matt Holliday to a two year, $23 million contract on Friday.

The St. Louis Cardinals signed catcher Yadier Molina to a four year, $15.5 million extension.

I already feel bad for Scott Proctor's arm after he signed a one year, $1.115 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers which insure's his new/former Manager Joe Torre will end his career once and for all.

The Kansas City Royals signed free-agent pitcher Brett Tomko to a one year, $3 million contract.

The Geary rule will be in full effect in Houston, after Geoff Geary signed a one year, $1.125 million deal with the Astros.

Looks like Octavio Dotel won't be returning to the Atlanta Braves after he reportedly signed a two year, $11 million contract with the Chicago White Sox. Whatever, he played like two games for the Braves after he was traded from the Royals in 2007, we don't need him!

Another former Braves player Lance Cormier has signed a minor league deal with the Baltimore Orioles. I personally think Cormier is talented and hopefully he'll be able to get back on track after a pretty terrible 2007.

Outfielder Jody Gerut agreed to a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres.

The Cinncinati Reds signed reliever Jeremy Affeldt to a one year, $3 million contract.

The Mets closer Billy Wagner will introduce Goose Gossage into the Hall of Fame.

Let this be a lesson to all TV stations out there, Albert Pujols banned St. Louis station KTVI from a press conference after they incorrectly reported that Pujols would be named in the Mitchell Report, prior to the Reports release. Did we learn nothing from the 2000 election. Don't report a story unless all of your facts are checked.

The Cubs will most likely not be sold until after the 2008 season. The slow process is due in part to the fact that the Tribune Co., which currently owns the team, is looking to sell of Wrigley Field first.

It's no DCC, but the Marlins held auditions for their Mermaids. Although, Brooke was a member of the Marlins dance team before she became a member of the DCC, so maybe you could call it a stepping ground for bigger and better things. I watch way too much "Making the Team: The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders" apparently.

Popo in my crib News:
Lindsey Paulat, girlfriend of Steelers WR Cedrick Wilson, was in custody on Monday after a 12 hour standoff with the popo at Wilson's home. The incident happened after Wilson left his home following an argument. Paulat's mother later came over to the house to try to comedown Ms. Paulat, but Linds decided to take two shots at the wall with Mr. Wilson's gun instead. Paulat's mother then left the home and the standoff began. The popo evacuated about 70 neighbors as a precaution before Ms. Paulat tossed her gun out the front door and was taken into custody. Ms. Paulat is now staying in an undisclosed location. Watch out Lindsey, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: It's really bad in Miami after they lost their 14th straight, a 97-90 defeat to Cleveland...Things are getting so desperate, that Alonzo Mourning may force a return...The Lakers took care of an ailing Nuggets team 116-99...Carmelo Anthony sprained his ankle during the game...Richard Lewis gave the Magic a 102-100 buzzer beating win...Sid the Kids badly sprained ankle will force him to miss the All-Star game this weekend. But on the upside it will allow him to catch on that whole "High School Musical" craze all of his friends have been talking about...Unfortunately for his Penguin teammates, they lost to the Capitals 6-5 in a shoot-out...The Sabres extend their road losing streak to 6 after falling to the Coyotes 6-2...Georgetown avoids the upset with a 64-62 OT win over Syracuse...UNC's loss to Maryland has Memphis taking the #1 spot in the AP Poll for the first time in 25 years...Phil Mickelson may miss the Buick Open with respiratory problems...Meanwhile Tiger Woods is looking to get the whole "lynching" incident behind him and the rest of the golf world. Good call, we're officially putting that story to bed...Maria Sharapova provided the upset of the day, taking out No.1 Justine Henin 6-4, 6-0 in the Aussie Open...Brain France is limiting the changes to Nascar, for now. Too bad he didn't bring that idea into focus when he announced the Chase, the addition of 2 more drivers to the Chase, when he took away dates from Rockingham and Darlington and gave them to California, who can't sell out either of their two dates or when they introduced the car of tomorrow say, one or two seasons too early...But he did announce a slight change to qualifying procedure. All cars not locked into the top 35 in owners points in the Sprint Cup, Nationwide Series and Truck Series will qualify at the end of the session, as to limit any unfair advantages. Ok, I can go along with this change.
