Before you head over to your caucus, Iowa...

It's been a few days since we've really blogged, so here's the top stories from the past three days.

Football Update:
The Baltimore Ravens will be looking for a new coach after they fired Brian Billick on Monday.

Standing next to Billick in the unemployment line is former Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz who was fired on Tuesday. Offensive line coach Jim Colleto and wide receivers coach Kippy Brown were promoted to take over for Martz...The Kansas City Chiefs fired offensive coordinator Mike Solari, offensive line coach John Matsko, receivers coach Charlie Joiner and runnings back coach James Saxon on Tuesday. Let me guess, you weren't happy with your offesnive production...And Bengals defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan and linebackers coach Ricky Hunley who were given pink slips on Wednesday.

Mike Nolan still has a job, but it no longer includes the GM title. Nolan will remain the head coach of the 49ers but Scot McCloughan will become their GM.

Meanwhile, Jeff Ireland has left his player personnel position with the Cowboys to become the new GM for the Dolphins. I don't know if that's a good decision or not.

The Chargers gave GM A.J. Smith a five year extension that will keep him San Diego through 2014. The extension was said to be worth $11 million.

Congratuations to Adrian Peterson on being named the NFL offensive Rookie of the Year.

The playoffs are upon us so here's a brief injury report: Vince Young practiced for the Titans but that doesn't mean they won't have some holes to fill. Tight end Bo Scaife was placed on IR with a lacerated liver. How do you do that?...Shuan O'Hara, Kawika Mitchell and Sam Madison missed practice for the Giants with various injuries. Pull yourself together guys, we have to at least pretend like we have a shot on making it past the first round...Meanwhile the Steelers may need to start recruiting from the various other teams that use Heinz Field on a regular basis with the growing list of injured players.

Oh and about Heinz Field, people are still complaining about the turf.

And if you were wondering, Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush have not recently gotten engaged. I'm way behind on my Reggie Bush gossip, when did they even start dating again?

UPDATE: Add Cam Cameron's name to the growing list of recently umeployed coachs after he was fired by the Miami Dolphins on Thursday. In Cameron's only season with Miami, the team went 1-15.

Baseball Update:
After some major internal discussions, the Texas high school baseball coaches have decided to let alleged steriod user Roger Clemens talk at their convention. Because really, who were they going to get on such short notice, Craig Biggio?

Joe Torre must be pretty stoked he's out of New York. Torre has refused to comment on former player Roger Clemen's spat with Brian McNamee.

Outfielder Reed Johnson signed a one year contract with the Toronto Blue Jays worth $3.275 million.

Outfielder Chris Roberson was purchased by the Baltimore Orioles from the Philadelphia Phillies. Because if there is one position the Phillies have covered, it's the outfield.

Curtis Granderson is adding to his good guy status with a charity basketball game which will benefit the Curtis Granderson/Grand Kids Foundation.

Popo in my crib News:
Jim Leyritz was apparently no stranger to the popo at the time of his most recent accident last week. Leyritz was opperating with a suspended license stemming from a cell phone ticket in Albany, NY which he had not answered. Watch out Jimmy, because the popo are on your tail!

Marion Jones is asking for linency in her federal trial asking for just probation instead of jail time claiming she's suffered enough. Maybe next time you realize that you don't screw around with the federal government and answer the questions truthfully and then you don't have to worry about jail time. Watch out Marion, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: Sad news, Korean boxer Choi Yo-sam has died after falling into a coma following his WBO intercontinental flyweight title figh win last week. He was 33...The Pistons continue their hot streak winning 106-93 over the Wizards making it ten straight wins for Detroit...The Celtics made it seven in a row with their 97-93 win over the Rockets...News Flash, the Knicks are horrible, even with Stephon Marbury back in the lineup the Knicks managed a 107-97 loss to the war wounded Kings...The NHL may have hit on something good. The New Years' Day outdoor game between the Peguins and Sabres drew a 2.6 rating making it the most watched game since 1996...Texas' Jamaal Charles will be heading to the NFL next year...Central Michigan has given coach Butch Jones a two year extension...West Virginia didn't need as much time as Michigan to find a replacement. They are expected to announce Bill Stewart as their new head coach...Speaking of West Virginia, they pulled off a 48-28 smashing of Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl...Nascar has released their Daytona test groups.
