Don't mess with the government, boys!

Football Update:
Injury report: Chargers' LaDainian Tomlinson is a go for Sunday's game against the Patriots while quarterback Philip Rivers is questionable with a sprained right knee.

Deion Branch will get a second opinion before undergoing knee surgery to repair ligament damage.

Draft Update: Michigan's Mario Manningham joined Arkansas teammates Darren McFadden and Felix Jones in entering the NFL draft.

Baseball Update:
The Congressional hearings get underway with Bud Selig, Don Fehr and George Mitchell testifying. Click here to watch the hearings live.

Congress is investigating Miguel Tejada to see if he lied to committee staff in 2005. Now Miguel, is it better to be labeled a cheater or to be sent to jail? I'm pretty sure most people would rather have their freedom.

It's official, Troy Glaus is headed to St. Louis for Scott Rolen.

Former Braves first baseman Adam LaRoche signed a one year, $5 million contract with the Pirates to avoid arbitration.

Chris Shelton was designated for assignment to make room for rhp Kazuo Fukumori who was signed to a 2 year, $3 million deal by the Texas Rangers.

The Mets have named Tom Nieto as their first base coach replacing Ricky Henderson.

Former Major League pitcher Joe Kennedy, who died in November, "was found to have died of natural causes, specifically hypertensive heart disease." He was 28.

Yesterday, the baseball world mourned the loss of former Brooklyn Dodger Johnny Podres and today comes word, Don Cardwell who was a part of the New York Mets 1969 World Series team, has died at the age of 72. If I a member of a Yankees World Series team, I'd be worried.

Braves Update:
The Braves officially have a centerfielder and his name is Mark Kotsay. Kotsay was traded to the Braves from the Oakland A's for reliever Joey Devine and minor leaguer Jamie Richmond.
