It's a rainy kind of day

Football Update:
The Giants take their road win streak to Dallas for a chance to beat a Cowboy team that swept their regular season series. Things could change as Dallas has limped into the postseason and will not have their star WR Terrell Owens at 100%. The Giants have injures of their own including center Sean O'Hara and CB Sam Madison. Tune into FOX at 4:30 PM to catch all the action.

Giants VP of player evaluation Chris Mara has pulled his candidacy for the Falcons' GM position.
Wade Phillips lead the Cowboys to a 13-3 season. And whether or not the team wins its first playoff game in 11 years, he'll be back as the head coach in '08.

And speaking of the Cowboys, Tony when you're ready rid yourself of Jessica Simpson, Michael Straham will be happy to take her off your hands.

With a meeting against the Seahawks on the horizon, Brett Favre told a local paper he maybe back for 2008.

Tony Dungy isn't sure what the future will hold, but he won't make any decisions until after the season is over. The Colts will be taking on the Chargers in Indianapolis on Saturday.

Pete Carroll is mulling over a chance to become the Falcons' new head coach (don't do it!) but it's not because of a new book that documents Reggie Bush's $300,000 payday while at USC is it?

Mike Shanahan is taking blame for the Broncos 7-9 season.

Hines Ward underwent his third knee surgery on Wednesday.

Kevin Everett is still recovering from a spinal cord injury he sustained in the Bills first regular season game, but the tight end is thanking the city of Port Arthur, TX for all of its support.

The NFL, MLB and the USOC have joined together in an anti-doping research collaborative. The NFL and MLB will give the USOC $3 million "to create the most expensive drug-fighting partnership to date."

Baseball Update:
The Jake is no more. In name that is, Jacobs Field will hence forth be known as Progressive Field. Wrigley and Fenway, you better not get any ideas!

Outfielder Jason Lane has accepted a Minor League contract from the Yankees while former Brave Chris Reitsma accepted a Minor League deal from the Mariners and the Cardinals signed Josh Phelps to a minor league contract.

The Red Sox will reportedly re-sign back up catcher Doug Mirabelli.

Even with a 25 game suspension luming, the Yankees are one of the teams reportedly interested in outfielder Mike Cameron.

They are also leaning against a deal to bring Santana to the Bronx although that doesn't mean he won't be in one of New York's five boroughs. The Mets still have a chance.

Curt Schilling said 2008 will be his final year in baseball. After that he plans to work on a multi-player role-playing game that is going by Copernicus. And you will probably be able to buy it off his blog 38pitches.com.

Chuck Knoblauch has finally broken his silence about the Mitchell Report saying "I have nothing to defend...I have nothing to hide at the same time." Chuck, do you know what the definition of is is?

Speaking of roids, Kansas City Royals pitcher Jacob Rodriguez was suspened for 50 games after failing to take a drug test.

Popo in my crib News:
Marion Jones will find out her fate when she is sentenced on Friday in her federal case. Jones plead guilty for lying under oath about her steriods usage and her involvement in fraudulent check cashing. Watch out Marion, because the popo are on your tail

Heisman Trophy runner-up Darren McFadden was placed in handcuffs by the popo for his involvement in a "pretty rowdy scene" at a paino bar on Tuesday. Let's see, what's more embaressing, being placed in handcuffs or attending a piano bar? McFadden was later released by the popo. Mr. McFadden is no stranger to bar fights, in 2006 he injured his toe in a fight outside of a Little Rock club. Watch out Darren, because the popo are on your tail!

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
