Onto New Hampshire

Ok, New Hampshire, it's your time to vote in the primaries!

Football Update:
Congratulations to the Indianapolis Colts' Bob Sanders on being named Defensive Player of the Year.

I guess Jaguars defensive lineman Paul Spicer has not been paying attention to how the Patriots work. Insult them and they'll kick your asses all game long. Leave them alone and they'll make you think that you can win, and then kick the game winning field goal with 3 seconds left on the clock. Looks like it's going to be a blow out in New England.

Injury round-up: Speaking of Jacksonville, they could have linebacker Mike Peterson back in time for their game against the Patriots. Peterson has been out with a broken hand...Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck looks like a go for their game against the Packers...Giants starters Shawn O'Hara and Sam Madison have not yet been cleared to play in Sunday's game against the Cowboys and it is uncertain whether they will play...For the Cowboys T.O. will be a game time decision.

Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum believes Chad Pennington will be back with the team in 2008.

A week after the big coaching perge, the St. Louis Rams have fired offesnive line coach Paul Boudreau and removed offesnive coordinator Greg Olson. Olson could be reassigned within the team.

Meanwhile, Green Bay extended GM Ted Thompson's contract to keep him with the team through 2012.

Former Steelers coach Bill Cowher openly questioned Pittsburgh's motives in calling a two point conversion play during their loss to the Jaguars. Luckily for Bill, he was able to run his own personal game plan from the glass house in which he does TV broadcasting.

Best Headline of the Day: Recharged Romo, Cowboys back to work. I guess he had a nice time in Cabo with his friends, his girlfriend and his girlfriend's parents.

UPDATE: Joe Gibbs will reportedly step down as head coach of the Washington Redskins.

Baseball Update:
The Hall of Fame will announce its new inductees today at 2 PM.

Roger Clemens held a press conference where he played a 17 minute clip of conversation with Brian McNamee. That's the last I'm writing about Clemens unless he admits he's done steroids or comes out of retirement.

Andy Pettitte retained former Sammy Sosa lawyer Jay Reisinger for Pettitte's upcoming congressional appearance.

The Mets have re-signed Duaner Sanchez to a one year, $850,000 contract.

The Phillies avoided arbitrtation by signing Jayson Werth to a one year, $1.7 million contract. Werth batted .298 with eight homers and 49 RBIs in 2007. I can only imagine how much money Ryan Howard is going to make next season. It will probably be way more than his current $900,000 salary.

The Tampa Bay Rays have signed veteran catcher Mike DiFelice to a minor league contract.

The Brewers and Tigers made some mass signings.

The Blue Jays added Shawn Camp to their minor league roster.

If the Orioles trade pitcher Erik Bedard it's looking more likely that it will be to Seattle.

MLB has announced plans to tighten security in its clubhouse effective immediately.

According to this report, it's looking like Jose Conseco's new book will not be nearly as juicy as his first.

Popo in my crib News:
Michael Vick is trying to reduce his sentence by entering a durg treatment program in a Kasas prison. The former NFL star QB, currently serving a 23 month sentence for his role in a dog fighting ring, was housed in a Virginia prison before being moved to Leavenworth. Watch out Mike, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: Congratulations to LSU on becoming National Champions following their 38-24 win over Ohio State...June Jones could not be swayed by the Governor of Hawaii and will be heading to SMU...A four team BCS playoff? It could happen...Savannah St. walked into the locker room during halftime only 16 points out and finished 60 points behind in their 85-25 loss to Kansas State. Maybe it was the four point second half score total that did them in...Like Savannah St., the Ducks also had a four point period, but it's hockey so that usually means they'll win and they did a 5-2 victory over the Predators to be exact...It was a high scoring affair in the Suns 137-115 win over the Nuggets...However the Warriors-Spurs game wasn't exactly a defensive game with the Warriors 130-121 victory. Although it did go to OT...The Stars extended center Mike Ribeiro's contract by five years adding $25 million to his wallet...Golf Channel anchor Kelly Tilghman is sorry for his Tiger Woods comments. Somewhere Rory Sabbatini is laughing...Jimmie Johnson paced the first day of Daytona testing...Was it because Johnson was visited by teammate Dale Earnhardt, Jr. who does not test until next week? Probably not.

Check this out: I owe so much to Starbucks and their frappuccinos, especially because it's the only way I get caffiene in the morning. So when I read that Howard Schultz was returning as CEO as part of huge restructuring campaign at the coffee giant I got nervous. And then when I read McDonald's was going to have baristas, I ran down the block to get myself a second cinnamon dolce frap.

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
