Gene Haas reports to Jail

Nascar team owner Gene F. Haas has reported to the Federal Correctional Instiution in Lompoc, CA to serve his two year sentence for tax fraud. He is required to serve at least 85% of his sentence.

In November, Haas pleaded guilty to one count of tax fraud after his June 2006 arrest. Haas not only was sent to the big house but he also agreed to pay $34.2 million in back taxes and a $5 million fine.

Gene Haas owns two Sprint Cup teams, the no. 66 Best Buy Chevy driven by Scott Riggs and the no. 70 Chevy driven by Jeremy Mayfield as well as Haas Automation, "the largest dollar-volume machine builder in North America." Watch out Gene, because the popo are on your tail!
