Sorry for the late post, it was a crazy morning.

Baseball Update:
Gavin Floyd was just one out away from a no-hitter when he went up against the Twins Joe Mauer who then drilled a double to end Floyd's bid. But he didn't blow it too badly as the White Sox cruised to a 7-1 victory.

Speaking of the White Sox, they're in a little bit of hot water over two blow-up dolls, some bats and someone's poor taste.

Speaking of late inning heroics, David Dellucci's three run pinch hit homer put the Indians in front of the Yankees 5-3 and they never looked back. It was just the second homerun given up by Joba Chamberlain in his short Major League career. All the Yankees fans looked so stunded after the homer kind of like when the Mets botched the last game of the season, except it's May and Joba's been pitching for like four months so it was bound to happen.

While Alex Rodriguez is watching games from the bench, his wife is making the big news, telling an interviewer that ARod fainted during the birth of their first child Natasha. The interview is a part of the series YESterdays. Isn't it funny how the strongest looking guys are always the first ones to go down in these types of situations?

Scott "I've been tased" Olsen blanked the Brewers in the Marlins 3-0 win.

The Cubs held the Reds scoreless in their 3-0 victory. In related news, the Reds have not put Ken Griffey, Jr. on the block, I mean they still need to hit his 600th homer, then they'll put him on the block!

Pittsburgh roughed up the Giants 12-6. The Giants also announced they'll be bringning Zito back from the pen. Because frankly, they're not going anywhere so you might as well use what you paid for.

The Rays edged the Jays in a 5-4 victory. The game was very costly for the Jays who lost both David Eckstein and John McDonald to injuries.

Blake DeWitt's inside the park homerun helped give the Dodgers a 5-4 win.

The Manny Acosta made it interesting in the ninth allowing two hits, but Royce Ring was able to hold the Padres scoreless and keep the 5-3 win in tack for Atlanta.

The players' association is looking into why certain free agents such as Barry Bonds have not been signed. Well, let's see, he's 45, has a legal troubles and can only play like twice a week, I don't see why some team hasn't snatched him right up.

NASCAR Update:
Testing at Lowe's this week is really an exercise in trying to close the gap between Carl Edwards and the rest of the field.

Can a feud be in the works between Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Kyle Busch? I don't really see Junior carrying on a public feud with any driver, but there couldn't be a better storyline than one that involves Junior and Busch after Junior probably got Busch's bags packed a lot faster at Hendrick. Although really a Junior and Gordon feud would be better but also kind of akward.

Mark Martin's quality starts have really put some confidence back into DEI.

Popo in my crib News:
Former Georgia Tech star QB Joe Hamilton was charged with marijuana possession, driving under the influence and hit-and-run on Tuesday after the popo pulled him over believing that his Ford Expedition matched that of a vehicle involved in an alleged hit-and-run. Hamilton had only a week prior been named the director of player personnel at the school. Well, he'll probably be looking for a new job. Watch out Joe, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: The Celtics topped the Cavs 76-72 to take the first game of the series...The NBA has admitted that a three pointer by Chauncey Billups in the third quarter of the Detroit-Orlando game should not have counted...Hawks GM Billy Knight announced he will step down from his post in July...Rich Carlisle and the Mavs are getting very close to completing a deal to have him coach in Dallas...Hillary Clinton made a pit stop at Sarah Fischer's pit stall during Indy 500 practice on Tuesday...Willie McGinest is extpected to retire after the 2008 season...The NCAA is not playing around anymore. Apparently college is not just a place to play sports and drink until you can't remember last Tuesday. No college is a place for scholars. So they'd appreciate it if you'd allow your athletes to not only attend class but maybe take a test or two.

Check this out: Click here for exclusive pictures of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's wedding. Yeah, they are like the oddest couple. But good luck to them anyways.

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
