No-NO

Baseball Update:
John Lester become the 18th Red Sox to record a no-hitter in Boston's 7-0 blanking of the Royals. The last person to pitch a no-hitter for the Sox, well that's easy Clay Buchholz. Now remind me again, who has the best young pitching between the Sox and the Yanks? Click here for a complete list of pitchers to record a no-hitter.

Speaking of the Yanks, they expect to have A-Rod back in the line-up on Tuesday and Hank Steinbrenner is blaming everything on Brian Cashman who for only sanity's sake should get the hell out of the Bronx after the season and his contract is up.

After placing ace Jake Peavy on the DL retroactive to Thursday, the Padres lost to the Cardinals 8-2.

An explosion near PETCO Park welcomed Cards players Troy Glaus and Chris Duncan who were signing autographs near the players enterance. Neither player was injured but did say they felt the blast from blocks away.

Evan Longoria is certianly enjoying his time in the Majors after knocking a game winning homerun in the Rays 7-6 win over the A's in 13.

Speaking of extras, the Twins were able to pull out a 7-6 win over the Rangers in the 12th inning. Rookie reliever Bobby Korecky had quite the night picking up not just the win but also a hit becoming the first Twins pitcher to get a hit in an American League game since 1973.

A second missed homerun call in as many days puts instant replay back into the baseball rumor mill. Fortunately neither case had any lasting effect on the game with the Mets rolling over the Yankees 11-2 and the Cubs soaring passed the Astros 7-2. On the television instant replay Geovany Soto cleary hit a homerun, but luckily, it didn't matter as his surefire longball became an inside-the-park homerun.

For the Rockies who have been stumbling along all season, the best shot in the arm for them was playing against the woe-ful Giants who following Monday night's 4-3 defeat have lost 6 straight. The Rockies themselves have won 3 straight.

Speaking of stumbling, it was not just a week or two ago I was thinking about when would Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman start playing like the all-star he was supposed to be. And then he played against the Mets and his bat started to come alive. And last night against the Phillies his glove was doing most of the talking, helping to lead his team to the 4-0 win.

A MRI revealed a slight cartilage tear in Andruw Jones' rigth knee. The Dodgers will wait a few days to see if Jones can avoid undergoing surgery during the season. Jones time in Dodger Blue have been less than spectacular but hopefully he will be able to get better and start hitting.

Pedro Martinez is starting to look like he would be ready for some real action after throwing 4 1/3 innings in an extended spring training game. The Mets ace has been on the DL since making his 2008 debut about seven weeks ago. But according to Pedro, this could be his final season in the majors.

In other Mets news, they have signed infielder Abraham Nunez to a minor league contract. Nunez was released by the Brewers organization on Saturday where he was playing for the AAA-Nashville team.

Nascar Update:
Sad news, Nascar's former oldest living driver Lloyd Moore has died at the age of 95. Moore raced in what is now the Sprint Cup Series from 1949-1955.

The entrance list is up for the Coca-Cola 600. Click here to see who is on the list.

Aflac looks to be the new sponsor on the #99 Ford driven by Carl Edwards.

There's an amazing rumor going around that Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. could become partners in a Sprint Cup team. While it's like a dream come true, I'm not sure it's going to happen.

Nascar has a King (Richard Petty), a prince (Dale Jr.) some pageant queens (Miss Sprint) but is missing that leading lady that both the IRL and the NHRA already have.

Popo in my crib News:
A Greek prosecutor filed misdemenaor charges against 25 people on Tuesday. The charges stem from a doping scandal rocking the country's weighlifting team which had 11 of its 14 members testing postive to banned substances during a check in March. Among those being charged was former head coach Christos Lakovou who will face five counts including administering a banned substance to athletes. If convicted he would face a maximum of 10 years behind bars. Watch out Christos and co, because the popo are on your tail!
