getting back to good

Baseball Update:
It was a close game but the Blue Jays pulled out the 1-0 victory over the White Sox who extended their winless streak to six games. The losing streak helped send White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen into another one of his tizzies.

Dice-K walked eight batters but the Red Sox backed him up with six runs to take out the Tigers 6-3. Boston also got some good news, Curt Schilling will attempt to test his shoulder on Tuesday. Schilling is on the 60 day DL with a shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, the Tigers designated outfielder Jaques Jones for assignment and has replaced his spot on the roster with Matt Joyce. Gary Sheffield moved to left field.

The Dodgers continue to stay hot silencing the Mets in their 5-1 win.

Rockies right hander Kip Wells will undergo surgery to remove a blood clot in his right hand.

Speaking of Rockies losses, they fell to the Cardinals, 6-5.

Good news for the Phillies, not only did they beat the D-Backs 11-4 but reigning MVP Jimmy Rollins went 4-for-4 in his minor league start. He hopes to rejoin the team on either Thursday or Friday.

The Diamondbacks could have Doug Davis back in the rotation by the end of May. Davis who was placed on the DL after undergoing treatment for Thyroid Cancer, said he felt good after a 65 pitch simulated game on Monday. This may be the best thing I've read this morning.

The Braves picked up infielder Greg Norton from the Mariners for a player to be named later or cash considerations. The Braves needed an infield replacement after Martin Prado injured his thumb over the weekend. Prado is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Royals pitcher John Bale told fans he's sorry for being such a moron. (If you need a refresher, he's the guy who broke his hand by punching a door.) Well at least he didn't murder someone in North Philly.

Ballpark Rankings are out. Click here to see where your team's stadium ranks.

Nascar Update:
Only 45 drivers on the entry list for this weekend's race at Darlington. Click here to see who is planning on qualifying.

Elliott Sadler topped the speed charts during testing at Charlotte on Monday.

Denny Hamlin arrived at Charlotte testing with a hip injury after getting a bit too rowdy in a pick up game. Maybe next time he should stick with playing horse.

Apparently, it's good to be Kyle Busch. Oh, and Kyle, Junior ain't mad at ya.

Speaking of making nice, Michael Waltrip and Casey Mears are all good after getting tangled up in Richmond.

Even though the Daytona 500 is like nine months away, get ready for some major promotions for the next running of the Great American Race starting in June.

Popo in my crib News:
While the Doug Davis story may have been the best thing I've read all day, this one ranks as one of the worst. Ivonne Hernandez, 43, has been charged with reckless second-degree murder after she allegedly rammed her car into a crowd of people standing outside of a local bar. While this sounds very Lizzie Grubman-esque, Lizzie didn't kill anyone, Ivonne did, a 29 year old Red Sox fan Matthew Beaudoin who Hernandez, a self-professed Yankees fan allegedly got into an argument with. This whole Red Sox/Yankees rivalry has officially gone too far! Watch out Ivonne, because the popo are on your tail!

The Popo are investigating a fight that lead to the death of Newman/Haas/Lanigan Raching mechanice David "Davey" Evans on Sunday. Evans was involved in an altercation after leaving the Kazablanka Bar which is attached to the hotel where team members were staying. It is believed he died of a stroke brought on by the incident. So far names have been released, but watch out guy, becuase the popo are on your tail!

Pittsburgh Steelers first round draft choice Rashard Mendenhall was reportedly robbed at gunpoint as he was walking around the lakefront in Chicago. The theives dressed in hoodies and ski masks took Rashard's wallet, phone and cash. Luckily neither Mendenhall or his buddy were injured. He is reportedly shook-up but "is fine." Watch out hoodies, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: The Spurs are down two games to none after falling to the Hornets 102-84...The Magic find themselves in a similiar position after dropping its second to Detroit, 100-93...Congrats to Kobe Bryant on being named MVP...The Suns are allowing coach Mike D'Antoni to talk to the Bulls and Knicks. Well that's a good call, because if you quit you don't get any severance pay...Rookie driver Jamie Camara was hospitalized following a crash at Indianapolis Motor Speedway during rookie testing for the Indy 500...A Ridgefield, CT boy has finally shed his #4 Brett Farve jersey after wearing it everyday for four years. David Witthoft's final day of doning the jersey was his 12th birthday on April 23rd. I bet you can guess who the smelly kid in class was.
