Cinco de Mayo

I'm back from my trip but still a little jet lagged so excuse me if this doesn't make complete sense. I'll try to do better tomorrow.

Baseball Update:
Roger Clemens is sorry for his personal mistakes. Are these mistaks similiar to the ones that of former teammate Jason Giambi or more like Kobe Bryant? Or can there be another Ronaldo? I hope its a combo of the three.

The Yankees swept the Mariners with their 8-2 win. They also sent Ian Kennedy back down to the minors. So much for Generation K.

The Braves completed a sweep of their own with a 14-7 win over the Reds.

The Twins rallied to beat the Tigers 7-6. Detroit also suffered a setback when they recalled Dontrelle Willis from Triple-A. Instead of making another rehab appearance, Willis will stay with the team.

Greg Maddux is still looking for win #350 after the Padres fell to the Marlins 10-3.

In dumb injury news, Kansas City Royals pitcher John Bale will be out indefinately after breaking his pitching hand punching a door. Bale was already on the DL with a tight shoulder but will be able to enjoy the life of leisure for a little while longer. What a moron. Kick with your foot don't punch with your pitching hand!

In better Royals news, they blanked the Indians 2-0.

With their 7-2 win, the Rockies snapped the Dodgers 8 game winning streak.

Nascar Update:
Carl Edwards re-upped with Roush Fenway Racing while rumors are floating around that Bobby Labonte has re-signed with Petty Enterprises. So much for the talk he'd be heading to RCR. With Truex locked up for 2009 and Greg Biffle saying he's 99% sure he'll be back at Roush, who do you think will end up in the fourth RCR car?

Safe to say Mark Martin won't be involved in the all-star burnout competition.

Nascar decides it may be a good idea to have a stricker drug testing policy. Yeah, I think that was self-evident with Shane Hmiel, but what's three years and a couple other drugged up drivers later?

Popo in my crib news:
So since I departed on Wednesday there have been a couple of high profile NFL cases, like the Marvin Harrison shooting news, Falcons' linebacker Michael Boley's assualt case and Bears running back Cedric Benson's version of the boaters DUI. What no Bengals arrests? Watch out Marvin, Michael and Cedric, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: Congrats to Big Brown on winning the Kentucky Derby. This year's Debry saw the crowd go from cheers to gasps in about 2 seconds with the injury to Eight Belles. And PETA when will you just get over it?...The Rangers are officially out of the playoffs. (I actually got home at 11 last night and watched the game on DVR which is also why I'm not totally conherent this morning.) They fell to the Pens 3-2 in OT...But that doesn't compare to the marathon Sharks/Stars game which finally ended in the fourth OT with the Stars squeaking out a 2-1 win to take the Series...Papa Johns is so sorry for attempting to be funny that they are practically giving pizza's away. So anyone in Cleveland and in the mood for pizza on Thursday order a whole pie for just 23 cents from Papa Johns in honor of Lebron James not being a "crybaby."...It only took seven games but the Celtics are moving on to the second round after outsting the Hawks 99-65...Looking for a house in Nashville? Why not try a little estate that is currently owned by Pacman Jones. The asking price, only $1.8 million and we're pretty sure its well stocked with stripper poles and hidden cameras.

Check this out: Don't forget to watch How I Met Your Mother tonight at 8:30 PM/est on CBS.

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
