On Monday, the annual New York social event of the year, the Costume Institute Gala was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and there were loads of sports figures who showed up in their finest designer threads. Here are a couple of red carpet pictures.

There was a rumor that Sean Avery fresh from the hospital was planning on attending but so far no photos. Hopefully it's because he was as depressed as I was that the Rangers got booted on Sunday and decided it was a better call to stay at home and rest. But something tells me that's probably not the case.
