Hump Day Hair

Saturday marks the first day of the Stanley Cup Final, so we'd like to celebrate that with some photos of our favorite playoff beards of the conference final round of play.

Eastern Conference:

Braydon Coburn (Philadelphia Flyers)
Mr. Coburn is not only rocking an awesome beard but look at that hair and that battle wound. Goodness, it's the total package!

Pascal Dupuis and Maxime Talbot (Pittsburgh Penguins)
It's an unedited separated at birth.

Ryan Malone (Pittsburgh Penguins)
Here's what I love about playoff beards, you grow them, they bring you luck or whatever and best of all, no upkeep. I hate the playoff goatee or playoff handlebar mustache, or whatever the heck Sidney Crosby's attempting. I like the good old fashioned, I ain't shaving this thing until I'm molesting the Stanley Cup or hitting the links playoff beard.

Western Conference:

Marty Turco (Dallas Stars)
Ever been to Dallas? Yeah, me neither but I have been to Houston and if they are anything alike, it can get a little hot and humid and sticky frankly so I applaud any member of the Dallas Stars that grew a playoff beard and totally forgive anyone (even you Mike Madano) for shaving it off. But props definitely have to be sent out to Turco who not only has to brave the heat outside, he has to rock that itchy beard under a goalie mask. Too bad that wasn't enough to help the team advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Amazing Guy who is not Kevin Smith (Dallas Stars)
Pictured above is an employee of the American Airlines Center in Dallas. He loves his job so much he took it upon himself to grow a beard. And once again I point out the fact that this guy is living in Dallas and is wearing that thing. Maybe he can drown his sorrows in some fried calamari and a beer.

Tomas Holmstrom (Detroit Red Wings)
It was hard to find a great picture of a Red Wings playoff beard so we went with this one. A) because Tommy here looks like he's watching a video of how he was conceived on the jumbo tron and B) because it looks like he got that whole unmanicured beard look down pat.
