I kind of thought it was Friday...ooops!

Baseball Update:
I'm pretty sure you don't want to go up against the Indians after C.C. Sabathia extended the Indians starters scoreless streak an additional 9 innings in the Tribe's 2-0 win over the A's.

Although a team you maybe ok playing despite their four wins on the current homestand would probably be the Brewers after another ninth inning meltdown where Guillermo Mota allowed the go-ahead two run double by Juan Pierre in the Dodgers 6-4 win. Look at the bright side kids, your article in SI this week was very flattering. But I doubt that's what the "major news conference" on Thursday is about.

John Smoltz told reporter Erin Andrews that he was feeling ok and could be back in about 10-12 days which would be a welcome sign for the Braves who eeked out a win against the Phillies 8-6 on Wednesday. The game marked Tom Glavine's first win of the season. Blaine Bowyer certainly made it far more exciting than it ever should have been.

Talk about a world wind day, Paul Janish got the call up from triple-A Louisville and promptly drove in the game winning run in the Reds 7-6 (10) victory over the Marlins.

Manny Ramirez made all of the highlight reels with his catch, high five, double up in the Red Sox 6-3 loss to the Orioles. The Red Sox also placed Clay Buchholz on the DL with a broken nail. Seriously, and you make fun of girls for ruining their manicures!

The Rays locked up Scott Kazmir for another 3 years, but fell to the Yankees 2-1 who are apparently not working hard enough for their bloated paychecks.

Only five days after being released by the Padres, the Cubs have signed Jim Edmonds. And ironically enough, went on to beat the Padres 8-5. Chicago will also demote Felix Pie to Triple-A Iowa in an attempt to get him going.

Carlos Quentin ruined a great outing for John Lackey by blasting his first career grand slam in the eighth inning to give the White Sox a 6-1 win over the Angels.

Another new prospect is riped for the picking. Clayton Kershaw working his way up to the majors by placing some radical hero type spell on all who view him.

Giants owner Peter Magowan left tongues wagging when he left a meeting early on Wednesday leading to speculation that he may announce he is stepping down. Yeah, I'd bail too. It's sad when the Barry the fans want on the field is the guy who is facing 14 counts of perjury and not the guy who you're paying $126 million to pitch.

Nascar Update:
Humpy Wheeler says Carl Edwards will be the guy in victory lane on Saturday night. And what Humpy says, usually comes true.

Speaking of Humpy, nascar.com has a fun 1-on-1 interview with the track owner.

It's good to be Joe Gibbs. Not only does he tend to win on Sundays but his Nationwide Series team is none-to-shabby.

Speaking of JGR, Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle and Stacy Compton got in the giving mood by helping to build a playground in Charlotte.

Popo in my crib News:
A 16 year old has been charged in the slaying of Redskin Sean Taylor. Another suspect, Venjah Hunte has pleaded guilty to the murder and will serve 29 years in prison. Between Taylor and the five suspects, that makes six lives cut short in this terrible incident. Watch out 16 year old, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: Dallas avoided a sweep with their 3-1 win over the Red Wings but remain just one game away from a round on the golf course...The Celtics aren't looking at a sweep but they have remained undefeated at home after taking out the Cavs 89-96. They are now just one win away from advancing to the conference finals...The Lakers also stand one win away from moving on after beating the Jazz 111-104...Arlen Spector is apparently not over spygate claiming NFL fans deserve an all out investigation. Dude, I'm a NFL fan, and I don't feel cheated by the way commissioner Goodell and co handled it. I would feel cheated if you used more tax payer dollars to deal with this non-issue instead of investing that money into a program that could be of good use for myself and fellow citizens. But that's just me...After getting kicked off the LSU football team, quarterback Ryan Perrilloux is transfering to Jacksonville State. Everyone with me, DOWNGRADE...Great news for Sarah Fisher, the former IndyCar's Most Popular Driver, is getting some help from her fans, a local radio stationg and two new sponsors to land enough money to compete in this year's Indy 500...Big Brown is hoping to deliver at the Preakness this weekend. He was listed a 2-1 odds.

It's been fun blogging with you,
