Things I Learned in Vegas

(View from my hotel room at Caesar's Palace)

1. Everything is way bigger in Vegas. I’m not just taking about the humungous hotels, the fountains at the Bellagio and really bad wedding hair but of course the overwhelming number of large fake boobs. The only thing that didn’t fit this mantra was the portions at some of the top restaurants we went to (Sushi Roku, Ago and Sensi). But somehow I still never went hungry, must have been all those trips to Starbucks. There were three inside Harrah's alone!

2. Slutty is always better. So it’s kind of hot in Vegas, but that does not mean that people should only wear tops. Some girls decided to wear dresses that honestly barely covered their asses and I’m pretty sure were missing their coordinating bottoms. And may I point out, they couldn’t all be prostitutes.

3. Pure is just not worth it. We were on the list but still had to wait 45 minutes to get in. The good thing was that we didn’t have to pay the cover charge ($40 for girls; $60 for guys) but it wasn’t anything overly exciting. The Pussycat Doll Lounge was fun. But the people weren’t overly pretty, the music was ok but not great and the drinks were a bit light. All and all, I’d stick with the Barge. Well maybe not…

4. You could spend days without seeing sunlight. The idea of the casinos is to have enough attractions to keep people from ever leaving and they definitely did their jobs. From the gambling to the shops to the restaurants and spas there is so much going on, you never have to leave. Although if you do leave, there’s tons of stuff to do up and down the strip, like the Nascar Café.

5. David Justice is a good guy. So very few celeb spottings, but I did talk to Pete Rose for like 2 minutes. I mentioned I was a Braves fan because I loved David Justice when I was growing up. He asked me if I was jealous of Halle Berry (which I kind of am) and then told me Justice was a good guy. He also knew who basically every team was playing on Saturday. He was just full of surprises.

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
