Rain Out

Baseball:
Of the games played yesterday it seemed like almost everyone of them was affected by rain including the Yankees/Blue Jays game and Rockies/Cardinals game which were both rained out. Honestly, when I had gameday on for the Tigers game I looked up to see what other games were in progress and the next four games had delay on it. Talk about crappy weather, doesn't mother nature know it's supposed to be sunny and 70 degrees for Opening Day?

Another theme for Monday was extra innings. The Pirates were able to defeat the Braves 12-11 in 12 innings...while the Royals surprised the Tigers 5-4 in 11 innings...And the Brewers topped the Cubs 4-3 in 10 innings.

Carlos Zambrano left the Cubs game in the seventh after feeling a cramp in his right forearm. He is listed as day-to-day and is not expected to miss his next start.

The Indians picked up a crazy 10-8 win over the White Sox but not before losing catcher Victor Martinez in the second inning with a hamstring injury.

The Nationals are now 2-0 after beating the Phillies 11-6.

Brad Penny helped give Joe Torre a nice Opening Day welcome with the Dodgers 5-0 victory over the Giants.

The Braves have signed recently troubled former Cardinal Scott Spezio to a minor league deal.
