It could be worse...

Baseball Update:
The Tigers troubles continue after being blown out by the White Sox 11-0. I bet Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis wish they were still in Miami. It's warmer down there and the team has more than two wins this season!

The Yankees lose to the Red Sox 8-5 and lose back-up catcher Jose Molina with an injured hamstring but they did unearth the burried David Ortiz jersey in the new Yankee stadium. So it's not all bad, but they will need another catcher who isn't suffering from a shoulder injury to play for them on Monday.

Since some contractor dropped that Ortiz jersey into the concrete of Yankee Stadium, Ortiz has been a major slump, so maybe the jersey was really a curse for David Ortiz that will now be reversed. Or maybe Ortiz will cotinue to struggle.

The Angels, Nationals and Rockies avoided sweeps on Sunday beating the Mariners, Braves and Diamondbacks respectively.

Tom Glavine left the Braves/Nationals game early in the first inning with a sore hamstring. He is listed as day-to-day.

A costly throwing error by Phillies second baseman Chase Utley gave the Cubs a 6-5 victory (10).

B.J. Ryan returned to the Blue Jays after a year off due to Tommy John surgery to get his first save of the season, in the Jays 5-4 victory over the Rangers. The win completed the series sweep for Toronto.

The Rangers optioned right hander Kazuo Fukumori to triple-A Oklahoma in favor of right hander Scott Feldman.

Barry Bonds' final homerun ball has been sold at auction for over $376,000. Is this like the final game at Yankee Stadium, where you pay like $15,000 only to realize there's still the playoffs and that you just spent the same amount of money as a Honda Fit on the final regular season game?

If you were like many fans on Saturday who sat through a rain delay during the Yankees-Red Sox game, you were pretty pissed off when Fox switched from the game to the start of the Nascar race. The game was moved to FX, but if you were like myself and had no idea where FX was, you were on a made dash with your TV guide to figure out where the hell FX was, only to miss the final out. Well, Fox is sorry. Really you couldn't have done a tape delay so that you could both show the end of the game and then the drop of the green flag of the Nascar race? I do it all the time, it's called DVR!

Nascar Update:
Nascar talking head (aka president) Mike Helton was once again put in the unevniable place to defend the flawed drug testing policy in Nascar. Currently drivers will only be tested if they is just cause, unlike other sports which feature random drug testing. Helton and the France family apparenlty don't mind putting drivers in danger by allowing cracked out drivers to race around at nearly 200 mph along with 42 other competitors. Nope, Nascar sees no reason to change their policy because druggies like Aaron Fike, Shame Hmiel and Tyler Walker are on perament vacations thanks to the top notch drug policy in place. Goodness, Nascar get off your pedastool and take care of your drivers. You claim the COT was done to keep drivers safe and refuse to change it even though it offers horrible racing conditions because it keeps drivers protected, but yet you don't seem to care if some one is coming off a heroin high.

Jared Turner has some ideas for nascar, too bad, the France family will never let it happen. Click here to see his plan.

Popo in my crib News:
So when they say you should be careful what you say, no one will know that better than construction worker Gino Castignoli who allegedly put a David Ortiz jersey into the contrete of the New Yankee Stadium. When officials got word of the prank, promptly drilled into the newly laid concrete to pull out the offensive jersey. Now, Castignoli has been warned ny the team that he may face civil or even criminal charges for his attempt to curse the Yanks. Add the Yankees organization to the list of people you don't screw with. Watch out Gino, because the popo are on your tail!
