Subway Fresh Fit 500

Winner: Jimmie Johnson

Recap: Fuel strategy finally landed a Hendrick Car into victory lane at Phoenix on Saturday night. Jimmie Johnson handily beat his closest competitor Clint Bowyer by over 7 seconds after deciding not to pit in the closing laps but it was another Hendrick teammate, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. that battled for the lead for much of the latter half race. Earnhardt and Mark Martin traded for the lead but both came up short in the end. Denny Hamlin, who finished third, was the top finishing racer who had pitted.

Shout outs: To Mark Martin who looked to be heading to victory lane as a part timer for DEI before pit strategy blocked him from the win.

Disappointments: A week after being lambasted by their owner, Chip Ganassi Racing only managed one top 20 finish (16th by Juan Pablo Montoya) and with Reed Sorenson's 42nd place finish after being involved in an accident, Ganassi is close to having two cars out of the top 35 in points.

Next Race: April 27th @ Talladega
