Denver the new Cleveland?

Baseball Update:
Thursday marked the first snow out of the year, as the Braves and Rockies were unable to get their game in due to the powdery white stuff. The game has been rescheduled to June 16th. Snow in mid-April, now that's just mean!

Jose Reyes scored the controversial winning run in the 12th to give the Mets a 4-3 win over the Phillies. Jimmy Rollins did not start for the Phils, but was used a pinch hitter.

The Mets signed Claudio Vargas to a minor league contract on Thursday and the Phillies signed Steve Kline to a minor league deal as well.

The Yankees changed up their line-up and were able to avoid a sweep by the Kansas City Royals, winning 6-1.

In other sweeping news, the Nationals got swept by the Marlins with a 4-3 loss...And the Cubs brought out the brooms with a 7-3 win over the Pirates...Meanwhile the A's off the strength of a Travis buck game winning double in the 12th, swept the Jays with a 3-2 victory.

The A's also put pitcher Rich Harden on the 15 day DL and called up former Brave Joey Devine from the Minors.

The Tigers are still totally sucking. A day after picking up their first win of the season, they fell to the Red Sox 12-6.

The Red Sox put third baseman Mike Lowell on the DL with a sprained right thumb.

The Indians are going to let this whole C.C. Sabathia up in the air thing happen with their other ace Fausto Carmona, so they signed him to a four year deal that could be worth $48 million.

If you haven't checked your local listings for this week's nationally televised baseball games, I'll give you a hint on who will be shown on Saturday and Sunday. One team is the reigning World Series Champs and the other team has the most World Series Championships. If you guessed the Yankees and Red Sox, you're right! Now here's your prize, click here to read about the young guns dominating the two teams.

Speaking of Championships, it might be a good idea for the Yankees to win one this year, because some pissed of Boston fan may have slipped a hex into the brand spanking new Yankee Stadium last year.

In other Yankees news, Hal and Hank Steinbrenner have been named co-chairpersons of the New York Yankees.

Good news for the D-Backs, Doug Davis had successful cancer surgery!

Nascar Update:
Welcome to the desert my friends. The Cups boys take their racing under the lights for the first points paying night race of the season. Expect the beating and banging to sparkle not just on the track but into the post race comments as well. The one mile flat track oval is known for being a little tricky for drivers to navigate but some have had some success like Hendrick drivers Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Can they finally break through and land themselves in victory lane? Or will one of the Busch brothers steal their thunder? You'll have to tune in to find out. Catch the Subway Fit Fresh 500 on Fox at 8 PM/est on SATURDAY!

Congrats to Ryan Newman on picking up the pole at Phoenix tying him for 10th all time with Buck Baker.

After Aaron Fike's herion revelation, Nascar drivers are asking Nascar to have a stricter drug policy. And Tyler Walker, who says he's 10 months sober, is proof that Nascar needs to get their act together.

Dario Franchitti is leaning on his brother Marino to help him through his rough patch in Nascar.

News & Notes: Day two of the hockey playoffs had the Dallas Stars shut-out reigning champs the Anaheim Ducks 4-0...The Sharks tied the series with Flames with a shut out of their own, 2-0...The Canadiens bested the Bruins 4-1...And the Red Wings topped the Predators 3-1...Emails suggest the Sonice were looking to move to Oklahoma City since 2007. Is this really a surprise, I thought they were hoping to peace out for longer than that...With their 114-105 win over the Warriors, the Nuggets are keeping their grip on the eighth spot in the west... Meanwhile, the Mavs clinched a seventh place birth with a 97-94 win over the Jazz...Bill Self must have gotten some security from Kansas because he is officially not jumping ship to go to Oklahoma State...Any contract talks between Penn State and Football head coach Joe Paterno have been put on the back burner until the end of the 2008 season. I wonder if can phone in the negotitions from home...Looks like Miami knows how they're taking with the first pick after it was revealed that they have begun contract talks with Jake Long. Although apparently it could be fake, so you'll have to tune into the marathon that is the NFL draft to find out. Luckily you won't have to wait long because they do have the no. 1 pick...China has uncovered another terrorist plot targeting the Olympics.
