Baseball Update:
It seems the Pope's visit to New York blessed the Mets not the Yankees on Thursday. The Mets pulled off a 3-2 win over the Nationals off of a wild pitch in the 14th inning. Wait a minute, didn't that same scenario happen the day before?
Meanwhile the Yankees' starter Mike Mussina got no loving from the Red Sox after being pulled in the third. The Red Sox went on to win 7-5.
The Mets weren't the only team to go into extras on Thursday, the Rockies and Padres literally played over two and third games with the Rockies edging the Padres 2-1 in the 22nd inning...The Orioles nipped the White Sox 6-5 (10)...And the Brewers tagged the Cardinals 5-3 (10).
Prince Fielder finally hit a homerun in the Brewers win. Does this mean he's back on the red meat?
It was also a night of redemption as the Braves avoided a sweep with a 8-0 win over the Marlins...And the Indians battered the Tigers 11-1.
DL News: The Braves who placed reliever Peter Moylan on the DL could be without him for the rest of the season...The Phillies are not putting Jimmy Rollins on the DL...The Rangers placed outfielder Marlon Byrd on the 15 day DL with inflammation in his left knee...The Blue Jays placed reliever Brian Wolfe on the 15 day DL with a right triceps strain...And The Royals placed John Bale on the DL.
The A's move to Fremont will reportedly be delayed until 2012. It's like the A's are the Nets of California!
The David Ortiz jersey that was placed in the concrete of Yankee Stadium before being removed will go up for auction by the Jimmy Fund. Like you didn't see that coming.
Some people are not too happen with the Kansas City T-Bones' "Welcome to the Neighborhood" night at their Community/America Ballpark. The night is in honor of Leavenworth, Kan inmate Michael Vick. Some people just have no sense of humor.
NASCAR Update:
While the Cup Series is away, the Nationwide Series will play this weekend in Mexico City. Catch all the action live on ESPN2 at 1:30 PM/est.

San Jose is now just one win away from moving onto the next round...Has Miami Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland let the cat out of the bag?...Steve McNair announced his retirement after 13 years in the League...Meanwhile another Quarterback has something to celebrate. The Giants Eli Manning is reportedly marrying his college sweatheart Abby McGrew this weekend in Mexico. Congrats to the happy couple...Two NBA coaches got the axe as the Bulls fired interim coach Jim Boylan and the Bucks let Larry Krystowiak go...Could Isiah Thomas be the next coach fired? A report says he will...Draft update: UCLA's Kevin Love and Kansas' Brandon Rush and Darrell Arthur are entering the draft, while Kanas' Mario Chalmers is debating the idea...In more stupid things our government is doing with our tax payer money news, lawmakers are asking for a probe into whether college football's Bowl Championship Series is an illegal enterprise. LEAVE SPORTS ALONE!!! Concentrate on more important things like the gas crisis, the banking crisis, the housing crisis and maybe throw in education and healthcare.
Check this out: We are so excited it's Friday because there is finally a movie in theaters we are totally stoked about. It's called "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and it stars some of our favorites like Jason Seagel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis and Paul Rudd. The reviews are amazing so we're begging you to drop whatever your plans were this weekend and go see this movie. And if you're celebrating Passover this weekend, don't forget to bring your motzah!
It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
