Take your kid to work day invades my morning commute

Baseball Update:
The Cubs franchise reached 10,000 victories with their 7-6 win over Colorado. They have 10,000 wins, but do they have 10,000 losses like the Phillies, yeah not so much!

Speaking of the Phils, they got beaten by the Brewers, 5-4 and even gave up two homers to Prince Fielder. Seems Fielder's getting over his early season homerun slump.

For a second straight night, the Red Sox had to pull their starter (Dice-K) before gametime but unlike Tuesday, Boston was unable to recover falling to the Angels 6-4.

Walt Jocketty will replace Wayne Krivsky as the Reds GM. Too bad the Reds didn't give him quite the welcoming party he was hoping for, dropping to the Astros 9-3.

I guess the Tigers are righting their ship after destroying the Rangers 19-6. Wednesday also saw the return of Curtis Granderson to centerfield. Watch out AL Central, because the Tigers are hoping to back up the media's early season predictions. And the Rangers are backing up mine!

Maybe instead of building a new stadium the Tampa Bay Rays should just play all of their games in Orlando after improving to 5-0 in games played at Disney with their 5-3 victory over the Blue Jays.

Greg Maddux was one inning away from reaching 350 wins but unfortunately Trevor Hoffman didn't do his part, blowing a save in the ninth in the Giants eventual 3-2 win (13).

Oh, Giants GM Brian Sabean is finally starting to realize there's something wrong with Barry Zito.

Nascar Update:
Reports say that two-time Nascar Cup Champ Tony Stewart has been asked to be released from his final contract year with Joe Gibbs Racing. Currently J.D. Gibbs has stated publically that he and his team have no plans to release him. Tony don't go! Who's going to keep you around after you have one of your tantrums? No one. Just ask your teammate Kyle Busch who was given his walking papers from Hendrick Motorsports last season. No one loves you like JGR!!!!

Stewarts not the only possible free agent for 2009, Martin Truex, Jr. could be on the move. RCR maybe? Or will his former boss Dale Earnhardt, Jr. convince Hendrick Motorsports to make some room? Please Hendrick, I miss the Juniors being on the same team. (Sorry Casey!)

AJ Allmendinger will be back in Red Bull Racings No. 84 at Talladega this weekend.

Don't be fooled, Kyle Busch is not attempting to win a Championship in all three Nascar divisions. He just kind of is.

Do you know who this guy is? Because apparently he's been running under the radar.

Sad news, Cameron Argetsinger, "who started the road-racing tradition at Watkins Glen 60 years ago" has died at the age of 87.

News & Notes: Detroit took no prisoners on Wednesday kicking the 76ers 105-88. That's right Philly you got your win now make your off season plans because you're not going to be in it much longer. For more NBA playoff news click here...Oh, and Dwayne Wade is reportedly dating Star Jones. Good lord I hope there is some sort of typo in there...Pacman Jones was dealt to Dallas for a fourth round pick. If Jones does not get reinstated by the League, the Titans will give Dallas a fourth round pick...The NHL is profiting off their star annoyance Sean Avery reportedly getting Reebok to make new t-shirts that feature "Avery Rule" on it...Argentinean soccer stud Diego Maradona reportedly threw punches and insults at local reporters outside of a courthouse. I man after my own heart!

UPDATE: The Avery Rule t-shirts were a dream that will apparently never be realized. I can see some college student making in his/her basement right now!

Check this out: It could have been akward when Danica Patrick visited her former boss David Letterman last night, but it wasn't too bad. Click here to watch the interview.

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
